Yes, I heard that interview (half time of the four nations final on five live sports extra) but at the time he was very pressing home the idea about facilities and ability to bring through young players. Two areas we may not be the best on, but we are far from the worst.

The headline is misleading as well. If we look at the quotes, Richard Lewis doesn't criticise the club, he says:
“It is a disappointment they haven't kicked on like we thought they would”
Very different to saying the club is a disappointment.

“They have got a bit of work to do and I think it is understandable that some people are saying there should be as much pressure on them as other clubs in terms of pulling their weight in Super League.”
Very different to say “we are putting pressure on them”.

This is very caged, guarded language and I think he's being very careful not to give ammunition

This bit I found most amusing:
“they have got a good team on the field”

Quins will not be relegated from Super League until there is another London club READY to take thier place.

by that Richard Lewis probably means that Harlequins are subsidised, not financially but within the legislation of their franchise at its still seen as a development area, for example, upto now the RFL have probably took a dim view on attendances and whether the club are financially sound

When the club finish one place above Crusaders or bottom should they be kicked out of the comp and crowds reach sub 2000 then the RFL will simply say Super League in London has not worked and rightly so. I hope you lot will be proud of how you clapped the trash off the pitch no matter the score and refused to stand up and demand a total change in management and players.
