Capital Challenge on course to break records
London Skolars traditional January Capital Challenge event at Honourable Artillery Company’s grounds in the City of London is well on course to break records for ticket sales and attendees at the pre-match luncheon.
On the 24th January Skolars will host a Wigan Warriors XIII at the prestigious London venue and match ticket sales have already surpassed the previous highest figure for Capital Challenge matches against London Broncos.
Commenting on ticket sales London Skolars General Manager Howard Kramer had this to say: “Whilst we were disppointed by London Broncos not being able to take part in our annual Capital Challenge match in 2014 we were delighted that Wigan agreed to step in and bring a team down to play us. Ticket sales for the match have been steady since the game was announced but in the past week we have seen a real acceleration in sales and we are already some way ahead of our record pre-sales, which were achieved last year. Match tickets, priced at £15, can still be purchased from our online ticket office at www.skolarsrl.com”.
In addition to the match Skolars will once again host a pre-match luncheon in the Prince Consort Room at the HAC and guests will be treated to two legendary guest speakers in Jamie Peacock MBE and Martin Offiah MBE. Sales of lunch places have also been brisk, according to Kramer: “With Wigan in town with the Challenge Cup and Super League trophies on display and with two great guest speakers I am not surprised that last year’s record attendance at the Capital Challenge is well on course to be broken. Tables and places at the luncheon have been selling steadily and we have almost surpassed last year’s numbers with more sales expected in the next two weeks. I would urge anyone thinking of attending this great event to book now”.
Details of the Capital Challenge luncheon can be found on London Skolars website www.skolarsrl.com

| i understand if you are unhappy that it isnt skolars v broncos. as we were. however we needed to make the best of it. hope after xmas we can announce the broncos game for jan or early feb. now its all sorted we can sort it. i know skolars mgt have been onto broncos to arrange the date as soon as the barnet announcement came out. no one is happier fro the broncos outcome than us i can promise you. we work well together and want that to flourish.
i would hope tho that as fans of rl and london rl fans you will come out and support the game. from the bookings many of the old faces are attending.
anyway if i misunderstood the sentiment sorry.
happy xmas to all.

He is doing his job promoting the challenge. Yes, it is annoying that Wigan reserves are a bigger draw than London but it's hardly news and I echo the sentiments of others in hoping they make a decent wedge from the event.

| Skolars have done nothing wrong in my opinion.
They are getting on with running their Club properly by communicating and interacting with their fans and the General Public.
Totally the opposite way Broncos have behaved. For clarification just ask former Broncos employees. Ot you could try interacting with Gus. He will always keep you in the picture. With Barnet's admin do we really need a CEO at all?

I certainly didn't vote for Esher.
Still ended up playing a game there though.

I think you are living in a dream world.
Like a lot of people on these forums, you just assume that the RFL/SL/London Broncos/whoever can just host/muscle in on events as they please. What benefits would the RFU gain from anyone to do with RL piggybacking on their already hugely successful event that they have been building up for years? As has been established on that thread, the Big Game concept is more a social event than a genuine sporting occasion and good for them, it works and makes piles of cash. Nobody would give a monkeys about a half-baked friendly of Rugby League before hand. Crazy.

| Sadly it seems large parts of the thread are dominated by jealousy and blaming others (Harlequins RU, the BBC) for Rugby League's ills. The Broncos are in a mess, but it wasn't anyone else's fault but the club management/ownership.
