I think the consensus is that we are pretty much where we have been for a while now, spending well under the salary cap, but within David Hughes' means.

We released players mid-season, players were forced to retire, some have been moved on and some have decided to seek pastures new. We have space in the quota, why not have a look out there.

Daryl has done this for a few years and is usually very accurate. The Contract to end 2010 is the only one that would be important to us at this time.

some decent coaches there..

And a few good HB's and forwards up for grabs.. Which if im honest you might have better chance of getting with an Aussie coach. As much as i like us to stay british, you cant help feel with an aussie coach you have more chance of getting a decnt oversea's player in.

Didn't the club a couple of years back try and get Brett Syeymour over here. also of contract with the NZ Warriors is a prop/2nd rower Jacob Lillyman, played state of origin for Queensland and still only 28 so could be worth a look IMO. icon_confused.gif:

Did read that Steve Matai had been talking with SL clubs, but not sure if that was just paper talk or his agent tryingto get him a better deal down under. icon_confused.gif

Certainly do. Need to recruit about 10 players. Salford have hoovered up pretty much all of the redundant talent here (though I'm not convinced they will all gel). About the only position where we have decent cover is hooker, and that assumes that Chad will get over his injury OK.

After watching as much televised RL as you can shake a stick at this year, I would suggest that the club and the new coach could do worse than sniff around a few Toyota Cup grade players. The warriors are losing the player of the competition to newcastle knights as they couldn't assure the lad a first team spot next year. There will be a few more going that way as the warriors under 20's have been by far one of the the best 2 teams in that comp this year (second only to the bunnies).

Coaching wise, ricky stewart might be worth a punt. He is a name...he can coach...maybe he just needs a while away from the glare of the media.....quins could provide him with a route back to top grade NRL coaching......and let's face it, he couldn't do any worse than Mac.

Was mentioned on the Sunday Roast that Ricky Stuart could well be coaching the Brisbane Broncos next year,i wouldnt want him at Quins personally, but hes a decent enough coach. The Warriors are going to be very strong next year with their signings.....but you will get touched up friday night by the mighty Titans!! icon_smile.gif

Yeah he's good fun when he's ranting about referees! Or was it just Ashley Klein he doesn't like?

Would be almost impossible to get an U20 player with the criteria as it stands.
