| Very wishful thinking, but they are two very different people.
One proved himself to be a leader of Men, while the other thus far has proved himself to be a follower of money!
But joking apart, Benji is a talented footballer who would be most welcome in London.
The willingness of David Hughes to splash out on his wages even in the short term is not a likely scenario and nor would Marshall be likely to want to join us.
But y' never know, it would make a good movie.
"Saving London Broncos".

| Well didn't DH tell Our own Mr Rammond he was ready to splash the cash if the right players became available? There isn't going to be a 'more right' player that this. I dont mind him coming for the cash if he can do what Jamie did last season. If he doesn't even try to sign him then we all know the game is up as the clock has gone way beyond the 'ticking' stage now.

| I'd rather spend the hundreds of thousands needed on a prop or two

| Papers here say he can only expect 60k this year in the NRL as most are pretty capped to the limit. He could earn some decent wedge from Hughes (100k sterling) for the next 18 games and would be worth every penny in the influence he would have on the kids.
Given that's what we paid the CEO a year, I'd pay it in a heartbeat to have him here.....we need to get involved with his agent now as a viable option for him in regards to him signing a 3 year deal with an NRL club starting 2015....
...but as PP has said, Pigs may well fly first.

| I was utterly amazed we got the brilliant Jamie Soward for the last third of last season. Benji Marshall would be rather fabulous for the last half of this season, so fingers crossed.

| There is some sort of logic in buying in talent for half a season you couldn't afford for a whole season. Especially as after played 10 won 0 we are still only about 3 wins off staying up!

| Maintaining the status quo is certainly NOT going to work. DH grasps this small opportunity which we can build on with maybe a couple of good props if they come up or its game set and match.

| This time last season had anyone said Soward would be at London what would have been the response.
Can always hope, apart from the lack of grunt up front and shear physicality, its a lack of direction and leadership thats letting us down, Soward brought that last year, Benji could do the same, grab games by the scruff and direct guys round the park.

| In RLW they claim that he's settled in NZ and the wife is happy as she's got a show on radio and has just landed a gig on a tv cook show and is very happy there. so they think any move to SL would be fairly remote in their opinion.
But like I few others here, be great if happened, but if honest I would prefer the money spend on a couple of big experienced forwards who have some grunt going forward.

| Would be a complete waste of money. Even if we ignore the fact that he's spent the last 3 or 4 seasons living off his past performances, at his very best he was a player that did fantastic things in broken play. He was never an organiser, he was never a structured player, he was never particularly great in defence. But behind a strong pack that was capable of bending the opponents' line and creating half openings he was amazingly good at exploiting them.
What good, exactly, would he do behind our undersized and overworked forwards?

Tend to agree with that. Also whether he has the same temperament. Would certainly add a few to the gate though.

Completely agree. Yes he'd improve us, but wouldn't offer value for money
