Sorry could not be bothered to put these thoughts on the Orient thread and the Bradford game thread but random musings as follows.

1 Orient. Lovely little ground but the emphasis is on [sizelittle[/size. Firstly the capacity does not reach SL criteria and secondly how small was the pitch!!!! Don't see a forty twenty all year and then 2 come along in the space of 5 minutes. Sorry the playing area is just too small. The supporters club bar was excellent and the journey wasn't to bad for me.

2 Coach. How the hell are we supposed to play the game with 15 and a bit men. Bolger didn't step foot on the pitch and Dorn had about 10 minutes at the end of the first half (and didn't come on at all at Batley)! I spoke to Karl Pryce after the game and he said that Dave defending on Karl's side was out on his feet in the second half and couldn't believe that Ben Bolger didn't come on to give him a break. "You can't get any go forward when your pack is knackered" were his words and Ben would have put in a good tackling stint to give someone a breather. He also said that most of their video work had been done on how to stop Dorn as an attacking threat - we did it for them!!

3 Where has this idea come from that East London has a seething mass of untapped fans just crying out for Super League on their door step? Yes there have been a few new clubs springing up but doesn't seem to be any more than anywhere else

Can't understand why RP didn't use all the subs on Sunday, RL is a 17 man game these days surely - against a team of Bradford's size and strength, keeping one player on the bench for 80 and another (who might have been able to get us out of our own half with ball in hand) for about 70 is beyond belief! Especially when a number of players were knackered! Not using it as an excuse but it might account for some of the mistakes!

Have to agree that the pitch is noticeably on the small side but I think the SL criteria of 10,000 minimum could be achieved without too much dificulty if Broncos and barry Hearn actually wanted it. There is probably enough standing room if they want/allowed to have it. I love the Stoop myself but if the clubs survival depended on us moving to Orient then i dont have a problem with it and I would certainly go to the games. I don't think the attendance proved anything but i did wonder if away support was easier for Orient than the stoop. For any fans close to the underground the station at Orient is a real boon.
I have already had a rant elsewhere about RP not using his interchanges and am not surprised some of the players were shattered. All the posession we gave them through unforced errors was going to have an affect anyway but not to give players (especially the forwards) as much rest as possible is criminal. RP is clueless. I hope DH is already lining up his replacement for next season.

Still think Brisbane Road could be adapted pitch wise and also very easily capacity wise and not at a large cost.

Don't think anyone is saying East is Best! as long as it is in London with more important good access from tube, East I think has been discussed because a lot of money had been pumped into the area and it seems to be working.

No one at present know what the future holds for us we wish we did! but my personal opinion is that it will not be at the stoop of we survive as a club in Super League.

Exactly how do you see the pitch size being adapted......perhaps move a couple of stands 30ft back??....bonkers.

It`s a nice enough ground but not really suitable, end of.

The crowd number thing, potential fan base etc is a complete red herring......try marketing to fans properly whilst at the Stoop first. The Stoop is a brilliant rugby ground and many do not seem to realise how fortunate we are to be there. How does the old proverb go, something like `you don`t know what you have got until it`s gone`.

That is your opinion! there is a way to expand the pitch, not a lot enough, ground is suitable, the stoop again that if your opinion and of some here, I don't agree, it has had it's chance and it does not seem to work! also a lot depends on the negotiations with the landlord!

"You don't know what you have got until it`s Gone`- you could day that about many of our grounds except a few! nothing more unique with the stoop! than Craven Cottage or The Valley!

We are a very small minority of supporters here from the small number of fans we have, whatever we feel it is not going to change things much!

I would like to see some serious marketing in the Twickenham area next season on the back of a new Aussie coach and some new blood to fix our threequarter defensive shortcomings as we cannot sell a losing team. Last season was bad enough, this season was supposed to be a change for the better on the pitch - it isn't! so i hope we can get a couple of quality players in to turn this team around. If the team starts winning and the marketing is done properly and we still cant get the punters from Twickenham in - then we just have to accept that a move is necessary.

Agree Snoopy money marketing what we are doing currently on the pitch is just money down the drain! This season with the re-branding should have been the last chance saloon at the stoop and that could be the reason negotiations about the stoop have not progressed! I can't see us wanting to sign a long term contract if it is never going to work! we are in one big Hole! at the moment and this should have been corrected by now this season with on field performances, so money could have been spent on marketing to see if there is a future at the stoop?

It is clear we don't have a Big Voice with the club, not even Gutterfax with all his many marekting ideas and he claims to have the ears of those involved with the club seems to be able to change things, it must be Frustrating! for him as well as others and myself here who do all we can to assist the club!

Said it on the other thread BUT
Nice stadium, good views nice and close to the playing surface unlike the stoop
BUT too short! it would be an embaressment full time super league, possible to go for small in goal areas and as close to hordings as safety would allow but still think would be pushed to get full 100mtr
access, for me rubbish but I am only one fan! Car access from west rubbish, tube connection ok so suppose that makes up for it
Bar, etc good and staff seemed friendly enough.
The Matchroom bar upstairs excellent but obviously this would be top price Season ticket if we went that way
Cant comment on other facilities, could you get a coffee and stuff?

does not really matter where we are though, as a few have started saying again on here, marketing needs sorting
BUT Its pointless marketing a team that cannot win, only the die hard fan will keep coming and watching a team throw games away
Start winning games and folk will start coming back, be it to the stoop, orient, fulham, watford, gillingham
But its gonna be embarresing in 5 years time when we have to move from Orient coz its not big enough for the 10,000 that want to come watch (oh i can dream)

Then please share with us your detailed plans and budget as to how we would expand the pitch....I am sure that the residents of the blocks of flats at each corner of the ground (which land-locks the site) would also be very interested. We have not proved the Stoop does not work because we have never seriously marketed the club and the club/team has been rubbish since we returned to the Stoop. By the way it is not `The Stoop` which does not work, it is our club management and marketing team which does not work....literally. It`s just people jumping on the latest `let`s move` bandwagon as being the next magic solution to all our woes.

As for previous football grounds we have shared, how many more times does it need to be said that if we end up sharing a football ground we will end up being kicked out for a good part of the summer so that they can manicure their precious pitch.....thats the bit thats been proved not to work. So no Orient for me thanks.

As for

Why on earth would anyone wait until next year to find a new coach? If Hughes thinks RP is not up to it (like everyone else on the planet!) then he should sack him now. Waiting for another four months before doing something is just going to lose the club even more supporters, there's only so many times you can tell people that next year will be better.

From the top of my head, experienced coaches currently available (or not in top flight RL) include: Brian Noble, Ellery Hanley, Steve Folkes, Graham Murray, Karl Harrison, John Kear, John Lang. Or how about an up-and-coming coach? Jim Dymock, Adrian Lam, David Fairleigh.

Please not Karl Harrison! that would baffle the players and the media completely in the South listening to him, an up & coming coach is a gamble.

Under The Sticks, nothing is going to change your mind at all, I am open when we do move to where we go, I just do not feel that we will stay at the stoop long term now.

Anyone, anyone at all. Rob Powell definitely isnt ready to be a SL coach. Move him on, get someone in who can sift through the wreckage and have a few months to try things out this season.
If the club were marketing minded - yes,yes I know - then they should go for someone who would cause a splash in the national media. Sean Edwards or Andy Farrell, come back from the dark side! Neither would be cheap mind you but that's ok, I'm playing fantasy rugby with DH's money here.

Re Leyton Orient: Loved the ground. Good (though rather flimsy) seating, best atmosphere we've had for ages, even with my dodgy eyesight I could see the whole ground pretty well (didn't realise that I was being helped by it being small), could have done with the floodlights on in the second half. Enjoyed hearing the Angel Voices from somewhere up above my head.

However, the rail journey was just too long for me, and I wouldn't consider driving there, so wouldn't go there again unless it was a very special game. From where I live I could get to Warrington in less time (would have to drive though). But I can't expect the club to try to build its support base around geriatric dwellers in Moonraker territory, so I wouldn't oppose a move there (which is not to say that I'd support it either - I well understand the drawbacks mentioned by others).
