| That's OK coz we're resting our best as well. We don't want to beat them too heavily and so devalue the WCC!

| The latest I saw was that the Storm may want Inglis to play 20 minutes or so to prove his fitness before the WCC.
Of course its going to influence people if you broadcast it!

| I'll be the first to admit it, even though I love my footy and I have been over in London since last May I have never been to watch your club. RL in London never really gets a lot of press. Embarrassingly before today I thought you guys still played at Brentford and were still called London Broncos.
I've just looked through your first team squad for 2010 and I have to admit I have only heard of about 5 of your players, 1 of which I thought had retired a long time ago (Cougs Williamson)
No offence, but why would any neutrals (and by that I mean Antips) want to come and watch players no one has ever heard of play a trial match against a club who arent playing Slater, Smith or Inglis?

Why do people want to watch National League rugby? Some people just love the game, whatever the standard or players in front of them.

If I was living Down Under and any English Superleague club played on my doorstep in a match like this I'd certainly be there.
Given Luke Williamson was still playing in the NRL less than 18 months ago it seems strange you thought he'd retired "a long time ago".
Some of the best games I saw last season featured very few players I'd heard of: Oldham v Keighley, Dewsbury Celtic v Hemel Hempstead, Underbank Rangers v Bramley, Hunslet v Swinton. In fact I'd be struggling to name many Melbourne players as I've never been to Australia, don't have Sky TV and have no interest in the Australian club game, but I'll still be there on Sunday.

Link? If you can't provide a decent link then this gets thrashed.

5 posts into his RLFANS career and you think he'll care? Problem is if this rumour is doing the rounds at ANZAC central then it will be hard to counter it.

| Just had a peek on the Storm website, they are saying that Inglis,Slater and Blair unavailable due to involvement in All Stars Game on 13th Feb and therefore late arrival in UK, think that is where the OP got his info from. Would assume they'd still want to give them a run out though ?????

Check out the latest info here:
www.melbournestorm.com.au/defaul ... y&id=22617
It was always likely that the Storm would only play their stars sparingly anyway, as Manly did last year. We all would love to see Billy Slater and Greg Inglis playing at the Stoop, but that doesn't detract from the honour and excitement of our club playing the NRL champions. Most other SL clubs would give their right arm to do the same.
On a wider note, I was interested in Neil Bymouth's comment that "he loves his footy" but has never checked out the Quins. I would like to understand that better because it goes to the heart of making Quins successful when currently a very important audience (expat Aussies) aren't responding the way we would hope. If you look at expat Northerners who "love their footy", they are more than happy by and large to come to the Quins. So why not Aussies? Please explain Neil!
