Why single out Lovell?, we have been weak in defence right across the line.

That is why Lovell was released previously.

I think Kear and Dixon are equally as unreliable in defence as Lovell but would have him miss out the squad to change it up a bit. As for walker - he'e been great all season so cant knock him for one off game - he just needs a rest. As long as we win I'm happy, however a win by 30+ will give us the confidence and momentum we need.

Winger and centre in defence have to communicate otherwise holes appear, for me that is more the issue than one individual. John wells is brilliant at highlighting this sort of thing for SL games, get the sliding defence wrong and fringes are exposed however good they are.
As for walker, was he poor at fax? If so it’s first game where he has been poor

You defend from the markers out, Fullback calls the numbers short side. Walker has been poor numbering up and his individual tackling isn’t good enough, he always gets exposed against better teams when we have to defend more. The additional problems Sunday were that Apl or Lovell are supposed to check and release...which they weren’t doing always leaves Kear/Dixon with over laps to defend. Baring problems at centre Kear will be first choice FB

This has turned into a good positive post. So looking through it in defence Lovell is rubbish, so is walker, kear and Dixon are unreliable. Api does not know how to “check and release” Channing is a turnstile, not sure how we ever managed to win the first 5 games with our squad!
Hope the boys prove everyone wrong and get the timing and teamwork back they have already shown this season, win by 50 is what they should target.
