| Well we've waited and waited and waited and waited. I hope that the Broncos continue in 2014, whether in Barnet, Orient or whatever. I'll be there for sure.
But we can do better than this. Since we did the leaflet campaign at the Huddersfield game about a possible Supporters Trust we've kept the conversation going about the future of the game, particularly in South West / West London.
So today's the day the future starts. We're launching Phoenix RL - rlhttps://phoenixrl.wordpress.comrl - a supporters owned and managed club that will be at the heart of the local and Rugby League communities. First aim is to establish the club and work towards a settled long term base. Short term on the field aim is to enter Championship 1 for 2015.
The website includes a first draft overview of the task ahead. A meeting will be called soon to establish the Trust; then the work begins.
I think we can engage a lot of the Broncos support, and support from League lovers around the country, to do this a different way. I hope you can find time to make the meeting - do you think evening or daytime wee end? (PM me with suggestions and possible venues).
Time for the talking to stop - are you up for it?

| Phoenix RL - will it all end up in Flames?
No support from me, I see no point of another lower league championship club, it will take London Skolars and Hemel Stags all their time to grow and develop without a further club. If anyone who lives in London wants to invest help them they need it!

| I make Jaybs right. By forming a club to compete directly with Hemel and Skolars will be no good I'm afraid. Well, not for the game in the South East anyway. By reducing their pool of players, it will only harm those clubs rather than help the game grow in the South East.

| You're kidding right?
We are saying fewer pro-clubs in the south east is a good thing.
Said it before will say it again. Our fans are fricken morons.

| Had a very positive response so far - very encouraging. Go to the website and have a look at the overview - this planned club will be South West / West London focused. Skolars do a great job in North London; the last thing I want to see is them being undermined.
They certainly were successful in their work in Tottenham when Harlequins / Broncos Development arm was in full flow - we need to stop that momentum from disappearing.

| I'd be interested.
I don't see how being based in SW London would compete with Skolars (Tottenham), Hemel (Herts) at all. Huge distance between the two.

Thankfully I am not a London BroncQuins fan and never have been. They're merely the nearest Super League side to me.
Yes, the fewer pro clubs at that level of the game is probably a good thing at this time. I do not think that there is enough talent at present to support more pro teams. You only have to look at Hemel as an example, they promoted the majority of their squad, a squad they built over a number of years, to the pro game. Skolars have a small pool of talent at present and have a squad largely made up of former London Broncos Academy players, rather than players who've played the game within South East based leagues.
Both Skolars and Hemel profited from the dual-reg agreement with the Broncos in 2013 and both sides will have a lesser talent pool to pick from as a result so that is also another negative for a third side due to the lesser player pool.

Why is it here that some feel their opinion, is the only one that can be correct?
No one is saying that no further clubs should not develop in the south, but the two clubs in London in the championship should be allowed first to try and develop, establish themselves first. Both the Stags and Skolars are working so hard on development and marketing, but it is not producing results with attendances, why? perhaps people in London are just not interested in the lower league, rugby league.
nkpom, what about East London were the amateur game is developing really well, should that not be next for development, when the time is right, which in my opinion is not right at present. It will be sad if a third club detracts away from The Stags and The Skolars. It's not distance it is allowing them to grow first, Moe is correct, anyway Best with your attempts.

Players in this region travel quite far to train and play. Dave Stephenson (I think that was his name) was travelling from Bedford to Tottenham to train and play for the Skolars last year, for example.

| I was talking about fanbase. If you targeted SW/Surrey/Hants area, it's hardly on the doorstep of the other two. Also what about all the youngsters at clubs like Staines, they would be closer to home at a club in SW.

Why is that some people on here who do nothing for the game apart from post endless comments on the internet think it's acceptable to shoot someone down who's actively trying to do something positive for the sport in London.
You know, actually doing something.

How can some people make a statement, when they know nothing about the person they knock and what they have done and put into the game.
I don't need to defend myself to you, I know what I have done and put into the sport of rugby league, amateur & professional and that's all that counts.

| I don't think a third KPC1 team will do anyone any good. There are not the resources - players, fans, investors, media coverage - for three teams at that level. We'd end up cannibalising each other and no-one would be able to progress. Ironically, we'd end up with the situation the game faces in the north, where too many small clubs fight over the same resources.
Assuming the Broncos go under then I'd suggest we'd all be better off picking either Skolars or Hemel and supporting them.
If, however, the Broncos survive this then I'd wholeheartedly support the formation of a Trust to get involved and become involved in the club. There's a lot we could do to improve the club.

| I can't believe what I am reading on this thread! How this can be a bad thing is beyond me.
I wish you all the best of luck with it. Although due to the distance I'd be more inclined to support Skolars.
