You know I actually dont mind losing to a batter team, just as long as we make an effort

What really does upset me is having the game in our pocket and basically giving it away. First half today against Hull was a real arm wrestle.
2nd half half ok silly try right at the restart, then we were in total control for 20-25 minutes Hull were camped on there line and on the last were kicking from inside there own 40-if not 30
Then on last tackle!!!!!! TWICE we gave away stupid penalties, 1 for a punch second for a head shot. The game was ours those 2 offences IMO were the reason we lost.
Games swing between teams being donminant but today!! Bugger I could crush a grape

Sky Sports just showed some of what seemed to be the last Hull tries and the tackling seemed like "touch rugby" allowing them to just waltz through, after having such an impressive lead also.

I think most of the squad need to have a long hard look at themselves tonight. The commitment stopped half way through the second half.
Karl Pryce !!!! what exactly does he do apart from look down on everybody else and lumber about like the BFG!!!!
Easter came early for Hull today.
We can't blame this defeat on the coach, the buck stops entirely with the 19 that were out there today.

As a Hull fan who wasn't at the game I am interested in the thoughts of you guys. Was it purely down to you switching off or did we up the pace towards the end?

First game I have been to for a long while and I was very disappointed with our effort in the last 20 minutes. After the false dawn of the first few games we have reverted to type and our defense went walkabout too often especially after we went 30-16 up.

The soft penalty given away by Howell when we had them pinned well in their own half was scandalous. If Rob Powell has got anything about him he should dock him a weeks wages. They went straight up the park and scored and in my opinion that was the turning point in the game. After that we just weren't in it.

Was very impressed by Gale and Ellis especially in attack. Gales kicking was good which is more than can be said for Randall's. We desperately need a decent half back to play alongside Gale. Randall is slow, ponderous and predictable. There were times when he had ball in hand and he didn't know what to do with it.

I think we should send Pryce back to Wigan. He looked so disinterested, out of his depth and ambled back into the defensive line. He looked good going forward with the ball in hand but he's a luxury we cannot afford.

I just hope Rob Powell can get it sorted before my next visit on 22 April.

There may not be many games left over the season that we can say 'this one is winnable' once we get hit by injuries etc. but this was definately one of them.

To literally throw it away in such stupid fashion was unforgiveable. I have to watch the tries at 9.30 tonight to convince myself that what I saw before my own eyes really happened - three men on the line stood still refusing to come of the line to close down Sam Obst and let him charge over for a soft try - someone tell me i got it wrong.
And can the coach please get JOC some serious coaching at catching the ball before we give any more repeat sets of 6 on our own line. (p.s. Can Caro catch?

To repeat what Ive said before, Ellis is a star hooker - did the fans notice how we played so poorly when he went off and came back to life when he returned? Randall is NOT a SH and should be rotated at hooker to make sure we keep the team going forward with our running from dummy half. Play Mellor at DH or if Wigan want to keep him give Sargison his chance. Rant over untill I see the tries at 9.30. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

quote:
Powell said: "We need to ask just how many times do we have to win a game? We had it won and then threw it away and that is just not acceptable.

"We have to be able to put games to bed and that is something we need to learn as a side.

"Panic set in at times at the end and we started conceding penalties and that really cost us.

"We have to learn to be a lot smarter as we controlled the game for spells and deserved more."

Ellis was actually very good, as was wilkes

having a go at JOC hmmmmm i thought the lad played pretty well, it does confuse me sometimes with kicks like that, why not let em take it and batter em soon as there feet touch the ground, they were far enough away from the touch line

Mr Z H. i did notice that you lot upped yr game a bit with respect to the speed of the play the ball but apart from that i think we had the game sorted until the silly Howell penalty and the momentum swung to you and we could not stop it
to be up 30-16 with what was it 10 mins to go? unforgivable

The Howell penalty on the 5th tackle was the turning point in the game-As Clarke says on Sky certain incidents change the momentum of the game- Howell gave a soft penalty with his stupid cheap shot tactics- which they then went on and scored from + 3 more

So disappointing- We will do well to beat many teams playing like that-Hull are poor.

Mate is a Navy rank-Please dont use it near me!

Im assuming you've never seen Martin present the try's, he is awful.

Expect to be introduced to a new dictionary or set of rugby clubs

Massive own goal by the team today.
The winning at home jinx seems to have stepped in again.
Any new spectators who turned up for the first time today, will definately think twice before coming again to see an average team, who gave away a victory that should have been theirs.
Full marks to Hull for coming back in to the game in the last 12 minutes but i don't think that either of the sides on show at the Stoop today will worry the other sides in Super League.
All in all a very depressing day.
