2023 Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth and Fifth Round DrawsAfter a great weekend of Betfred Challenge Cup ties with plenty of excitement and the odd upset, the draw for the fourth and fifth rounds took place at Millom ARLFC who are celebrating their 150th year in 2023. There are sixteen survivors from Round Three which was played over the weekend including community sides Hunslet ARLFC and Rochdale Mayfield, and of course Halifax Panthers who eliminated top of the Championship side, Featherstone Rovers on Sunday afternoon. Round Four will be played over the weekend of the 30th March to 2nd April while the Fifth Round will take place over the 20th to 23rd April. The four sides which remain at the end of the fifth round will be joined by the twelve Super League clubs for the sixth round draw. READ MORE ON THIS STORY...

| Two (potentially) home draws. I doubt holding these at Plough Lane is financially very beneficial; I doubt the club wanted any home draws in the Cup. Currently there are already football matches at Plough Lane on the Saturday (Men) and Sunday (Women) of the Fourth Round weekend. I guess the Women's match could be moved. Their last match at Plough Lane in early March had an attendance over 500. I think that is more than the Whitehaven match last week. There would be more income from the Broncos but not sure they (Broncos) want those costs. Will be quite revealing where the match(es) end up.

It’s a great draw for us. Potential of a Wembley date if we take it seriously and perform well. Wonder if we will. Agreed, financially we’ll take a bath but winning breeds positivity and I think we have a good chance in the first game and second is up for grabs. Widnes do travel so would be a better crowd than on Saturday- 500+ as opposed to 100+.

| What would have been a potential idea would be having the 4th round game as a double header with the womens football, but there probably will be an issue with changing rooms as it would probably be more complex than having a double header when its all mens teams

There is 0.1 points (half a percent) available for winning the 1895 Cup in IMG's criteria system. Maybe that's the strategy for Super League qualification!. Admittedly the same is available for winning League 1.
I see their is a plan in place if an 1895 eligible team reaches the Challenge Cup Semi Finals (which is mathematically possible without beating a Super League team). Nothing in place to stop the same team playing two Wembley Finals on the same day mind. I guess that is since it's assumed there is no way a Super League tea can lose to a lower level team, especially as it's unlikely to be the worst team in the Super League reaching the last four.

| Anybody know if the Doncaster game will be on Sat or Sun. I might be able to get to it but it depends on which day and time

Well it won't be Saturday as AFC Wimbledon are at home. It may not even be at Plough Lane anyway. Club may look for somewhere cheaper for an otherwise loss making match.

| In the FA Cup, there have been many instances of clubs agreeing to swap home advantage to maximise revenue for both clubs - in that comp, gate receipts are split 50:50 regardless of how big the two clubs' fanbases are. Not sure how it works in the C-Cup. Sure Donny would accept anyway.

| Rosslyn Park...
This from Doncaster website
The Dons’ Betfred Challenge Cup fourth round tie against Betfred Championship side London Broncos will take place on Saturday April 1, kick-off 3pm.
The game will be played at Rosslyn Park Rugby Club, due to the Broncos’ usual venue being used for other events that weekend.
Richard Horne’s side will be looking to make it six wins from six in all competitions, having beaten fellow League One sides Oldham and Workington in the cup so far.
Tickets will be priced at £10 for adults, and U16s go free. They will be available from 10am on Wednesday March 21 and you can get yours by CLICKING HERE.
