Who is going? I am! First away game of season, then off for family weekend up north

Yep, me and my mucker, should be good. Last years game was played at Doncaster, and was the start of the decline, losing heavily and losing Slyney for the season and Mathers and Keyes for extended periods. Hopefully history will not repeat itself.

Four of us are going and I know a few others will be there too. It is our local derby after all.
You are right, last year at Doncaster was dreadful. All hope of making the MPG disappeared then.
I spoke to a Halifax fan who said it is a difficult place to play, especially on a Friday night. He said the floodlighting is not good and as fans you do not get a good view. We will find out on Friday.

The 19 are the same as last week, Matt Davis and Alex Foster to miss out again I suppose.
It is good that Hendo has a choice on selection, unlike last year.

it was Scot Leatherbarrow who missed out last week with Davis. AH seems to be playing Jack Bussey in the halves with Barthau, can anyone whos been to any games tell me how that is working out. it just seems odd to me when we have HB's in Leatherbarrow and Eliab.

Talking of Eliab can anyone tell me what happening with this guy. is he just unfit or just not as good as everyone thought, as he seems to be in the named 19 most weeks and not picked. and as far as I know only played twice and then played at scholars last week..???

Eliab needs game time and so a few weeks at Skolars seems sensible to me. Being picked in the first team for odd games at right centre hasn't done him much good.

I don't think Hendo has been particularly impressed with Keyes or Leatherbarrow at stand-off and hence we are currently running around with Bussey at 6. Personally, until Keyes or Eliab is ready for the first team, I'd play Cunningham there.

Considering Eliab was supposed to be the marquee signing for this season, he's been disappointing to say the least. And to think there was speculation on here that he only signed 1 year with us 'cos he was likely to be picked by a SL team.

Think bussey has been doing a great job but feel he plays more like a 9 still, we will be a better team if him and Cunningham rotating hooker with Barthau and either Keyes or Eliab if he performs in the halves.

I supect Israel is a confidence player and he does not have it at the moment. He could also be homesick and finding difficult adapting to a full time environment, London and a tougher dietary regime. He scored last week for Skolars and we should get a good look at him on Saturday at Skolars v Coventry. He may also be a warm weather player who likes hard pitches, I wish him good luck.

PP - So its either confidence, homesick, full time, overweight or soft pitches - or any combination of the 5.
