| Hey guys,
Strong word going around the saints boards we've signed Atelea Vea from you guys from next season onwards. He seemed to have a great game at langtree park - but what is the overall impression of London fans about the guy? He started late and hasn't played a lot so it's hard to judge!
We've also supposedly tabled an offer for McMeekan? Any opinions on him?

| Vea is inconsistent from what I've seen, was quiet on Sat for example. But on his day he is very good and good enough for Saints IMO.
McMeeken is a good young player, will be a SL regular for years to come I think. Not a world beater - at the moment anyway - but won't let anyone down

| From what I've seen Vea has been our best forward this season.
McMeeken, given the right coaching can be International class imo

That's pretty much how I see them, always felt McMeeken could go far with the right coaching - shame it looks like he'll be going as far as Merseyside!

Apologies I feel for the London position, and was avoiding posting - it's just caused a bit of a row on our board so needed some more opinions ... Not that that's much consolation.
To be fair, if you can keep hold of the Caton-Brown's, Macani's and Bishay's then it isn't so bad?

| It's what's sad about sport, Vultures!! admire Leigh who are saying NO to anyone who wants their talented young players, good on them, if Wigan & St Helens can't produce their own talent its sad!

Look at the current Wigan squad Jaybs. The idea that Wigan might not be able to produce their own talent is probably the silliest I have read on this forum in some considerable time. And that's before looking at how many young Wiganers are at other clubs, including London!

Many of our players will be putting themselves in the shop window for SL contracts. Lets face it they won't have that opportunity with the Broncos. I don't see why this is reason to have silly digs at other clubs.

cartoons/WB24.gif Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.:cartoons/WB24.gif |

Indeed they are in the shop window and no issue with that. Nor with having a joke at the expense of clubs, who to some are so superior, but need the lower clubs players to help them progress.

It's just an opinion like yours, I feel for the many young local players at top Super League clubs whose opportunities are weakened when the clubs feel they need to look to London to take the Best of the Youth, that is just fact, some will say if local lads are good enough they will make it? well from experience in working in the youth game in the North, that does not always work.
