| We can only hope that DH has at least made enquiries as to getting involved in this....even if it is as a long term tenant.

Lionel road is easily accessible from the M4, is less than 800 meters from Gunnersbury Station served by the overground north London line and the District underground line, is almost on top of the railway line direct to Waterloo and is served by about 8 bus routes, including one direct from Shepherds Bush.
...if DH wants the club and the game to grow in London, then opportunities like this need to be explored, not badly thought out moves to Kent.

Why? Because you say so? If he doesn't, does that mean we've failed again?

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| It is essential that we at least do look at opportunities like this, The Stoop is only & should be looked at as short term until we find a real home in the London area with good transport connections and no association with any union club, only problem is 20,000 capacity.

| On the Brentford Community Stadium newsletter it does say that part of the vision is to:
Provide a modern, good quality 20000 capacity stadium for first class professional football and rugby with the potential to generate income to secure the long term sustainability of Brentford Football Club.

| I thought London Irish had first dibs on Lionel Road if it comes to fruition?
Much as I'm loath to say it kipping with Saracens is probably a better bet.
Ready made stadium & some of their massaging of attendance figures is bound to rub off.
Or maybe not knowing Gus ...

As long as we don't have to change our name , kit etc...although they wear a predominantly black kit too don't they?

| Think Barnet is non-starter as they will be taking down most of the stands between May and September to get the running track back for athletics.

the club need tofind somewhere they can call home....preferably in West London where they have been for 11 years now....Brentford is exactly the kind of development they should be looking at.
By the way, the club haven't failed because they didn't try anything I suggested, they have failed because they didn't try anything at all....hope that clears that up for you as you seem to have taken an interest in my opinion of late.

This would be one of the few viable options for us to remain in London. The club would be nuts if they had not looked in to it.

I don't doubt it jb.
We don't know if we have or have not made enquiries. We can only "hope" they have apparently.

Sorry....maybe I should have said that "I" can only hope that the club has made enquiries.
RB, I am not sure what exactly your problem is with my opinion of the club, the way that it has been and is currently managed nor my assertions asto what they might try to change things?
If you believe that they are doing asplendid job, then good got you, but personally, I believe they couldn't organise a up in a brewery and as this is an open forum, I will post my thoughts on this.
Maybe the Aussie sun has helped you forget the utter clusterf**k that is Londons ESL teams attempts at running the club as a business......but believe me, the mismanagement of old is paling into insignificance when compared to the last 24 months and your sniping at me because I suggested Lionel road as an opportunity does point towards a heavy dose of sunstroke

It's just the barbs and digs on certain issues with the club. It's constant.
I agree things appear poorly run as do others, but for some reason you've taken upon yourself to be the one that goes on and on about it.
You appear not to like being challenged. Though you refer to it as a snipe.

How could my OP in this thread be deemed anything but a comment on how I believe that a plan such as Lionel road should be explored to exhaustion? Yes, I did say the potential move to Kent was badly thought out and it was.....I doubt there is a single fan of the club who would disagree. The mention of Kent had direct relevance to the thread....it was not adig at the club, just an observation.

As for me not liking being challenged? WTF?
I admit to pointing out the flaws at the club, but when I do so, I generally offer an alternative method/practice/scheme/idea etc.....I don't "snipe" for the hell of it and I welcome feedback from you and other posters......no matter how misguided

| Probably not productive or of any valuse to fall out amongst ourselves. This has to be a way forward and if the Club is to survive in a meaningful form then somehow buying into this has to be the way. Its in the right part of London where we have operated for the majority of our existence - from Fulham onwards. its right size (or would be if we could grow our crowds). Gives us a prtner who we might be able to work with and a community to work with. I will buy a euromillions lottery ticket and if i win, i will approach the club - you heard it here first................................................... (Note: i havent done the lottery in years and never won when i did so dont raise your hopes!
