| Went to the Aussie Rules last Saturday (good game that Port Adelaide won by a point with virtually the last kick of the match from a narrow angle). Lots of Aussie youth there thought it would have been worth an ad in a pretty skimpy programme or Cowgirls (or hush - volunteers) handing out flyers at the game.
Silly idea really!

| Marketing aimed at transient antipodeans, especially fans of Aussie Rule, is an even bigger blind alley than that advert by the bogs in Wimbledon shopping mall. Marketing should be aimed at potential customers. Targeting TW postcodes would be a start.

Maybe Gus has forgotten where the Oval is?

| I wish we were taking an otr game to the Oval.
We should have a marketing campaign that highlights the players and their origins. That way the northerners and aussie/nz rl fans in London would feel a connection with our club, in the case of antipodeans thats something other pro sports in London simpy dont have, and in the case of northerners it may tempt them to put their club loyalties to one side and give us a go. With so many local lads in the side too there's no reason not to emphasise them too.

how about asking our neighbours in first....the good citizens of Twickenham before we ask anyone else in London? Not saying that the idea above doesn't have merit, but the impression I get from TW2 towers iseverything is being done on a shoe string.
FWIW, I would invite all those "new" fans who attended the 2 otr games to a game at the stoop with free coaches laid on.......that would be an investment worth the money, especially if youdoubled it up with free entry to anyonewith a TW postcode (proof of address needed....collect the data)....

| There was an interesting piece in yesterday's Brentford football programme where the Brentford CEO explained why they had arranged for four double deck buses, operating on routes 65 and 237 through Brentford to be decorated in club livery until next summer.
"We ran the bus campaign last year as we wanted to raise awareness about Brentford football club in Brentford and the surrounding areas. We particularly wanted to tell people about our family tickets and the great value junior tickets....we heard a lot of anecdotal evidence of people who did not know about value for money football at Griffin Park before seeing our buses.....research we have conducted ...has shown there are many people in the local area who may not know about the club and certainly not about our prices. We believe this is a good way to tell them. There is an ever changing demographic in the area and Brentford FC offers a good value family day out. Both buses run through... areas we are targeting to try and increase the crowds at Griffin Park..the traffic in west London can be terrible at times so we have got ourselves an advert that wil be seen by a large number of drivers and pedestrians all over the area.
Whatever happened to the Broncos cabs.?

Give they were part of a relaunch campaign that saw us lose 10% of our fans, I hope they have been binned!
