| Went to the Union Double Header yesterday.
63,000 in attendance.
Until half time of the Saracens game when the mass exodus resembled nothing so much as a fire drill.

33,978 at the 12 London home games this season so far, but let's larf at the other lot getting 30,000 more to one event. Regardless of if they left at Half time or if they popped in for 5 minutes, they paid to get in and they will command more column inches from 1 day than The Broncos will have all season.
BTW, London Broncos, Harlequins RL and London Broncos .v2 have never attracted 63,000 over a SL season....even over 14 home games.....always good for a giggle that

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |
|
| Sorry, am I missing something here? What are we meant to be laughing at ?
Cracking come back by Quins in the second half.....wish I had been there to see it.

DSWG......the fact that a post was made regarding the other code and the behaviour of their fans...as in they left early, points to somebody trying (and failing) to look clever.....if we got 5,000 at the stoop i wouldn't care if they left after 10 minutes personally, but apparently 63,000 across the road is of interest for other reasons
London Broncos Rugby League ar a shambles off the pitch......regardless of me needing to change the record, or not, the club is a ing farce!

I thought the point was fairly plain but to clarify Broncos aren't the only club to play in a near empty stadium in Twickenham.
Saracens may be able to attract a crowd but hanging on to them (for more than 40 minutes) is obviously proving something of a problem.

63,000 at the big house is 77% capacity...11,408 at the stoop is the same level of "near empty"/77% capacity you are keen to discuss.
Saracens averaged about 6k at Watford last year.....then they had the D-header and Wembley to get that official average up to over 17k......even without the know how to market their "event" games, they get double the attendances for run'o'th'mill games than the mighty London Broncos......
If your point in starting this thread was to poke fun at a Union team and their attendances then you failed. If it was to offer a valid comparrison with the Broncos at the stoop...you again failed. If this thread was your attempt to make a joke regarding near empty stadiums in twickenham, sad to say, you missed the mark on that point as well.....
....2,832 is the average attendance for London Broncos home games this year...let's all talk about how sarries are crap because they average 6k at home and only manage to attract 83,000 to one game a season

| You can at least console yourself with the fact that people weren't leaving in droves during proceedings.
I'd argue that leading a horse to water and not being able to make it drink is arguably an even more dismal achievement than not leading it to water in the first place.
Cue gutters responding with the attendance figures for the next pop concert masquerading as a Saracens game ...

2,800 fans x 13 x the 9.85 Ian Lenegan reckons is what a ticket sale is worth to the club ...let's round it up to 360k.
360k/83,000 is 4.33 a ticket........the cheapest ticket to the sarries game was a fiver, most people paid 30 notes.....so sarries attracted the horse to water, but couldn't get them back, but still generated more ticket revenue in one game than the London broncos can all season..... and let's not even discuss the level of Media coverage that one game got when compared to how out "media partner" treats us............
how sarries achievement is anything other than 10000000% better than anything the London Broncos have achieved or even attempted ....EVER is ing beyond me

| There's a difference between turnover & profit though. Wembley costs 100 grand a pop & talking of pop I bet McFly don't come cheap either. Strip aside Sarries world class flim flam & they've got 2,500 season ticket holders. Their core businss is certainly not a million times bigger than Broncos.

Wembley costs 200k for their event.....the stoop costs 200k for 13 home games....regardless of you now backtracking, sarries made a profit from their event....which saw them attract 83,000 fans.
London Broncos only have about 30% of the ST holders that you say sarries have......London Broncos will average sub 3k gates sarries 17k+.....I know which one is doing better as a business....it's the one with the 8 million in sponsorship deals, not the one with the last minute building supply shop deal.....

| I can't believe that we are actually even debating this. How can we deride fans for leaving at half time of the second match of the London Double Header? For starters Harlequins and Wasps fans were the vast majority of those who left at half time of the second match. Their teams were not involved in the second match, so I don't see how anyone can knock supporters for staying for half of a match that didn't involve their team!
Also why on earth is someone essentially knocking a crowd of 63,000 when we are scrambling to get 2,000?!
