Hello all,

Have "won" (ie. applied for) a free family ticket for the Bradford game on Saturday. Does anyone know if there are events or entertainment planned for kids & families (aged 4 and 6) before or after the game, and if so from what time? The Quins website was not exactly packed with information about this.

Hi - not sure if you've been to the Stoop for a game before? If not then there is usually a bouncy castle, kicking comps and face painting at the very least. Keeps my 5 year old daughter amused anyway. Not sure if anything special for Sat but I given the predicted heat I would suggest the ice cream van will be an attraction for the kids too!

Thanks for the response. Yes, I've been a couple of times before, but without kids so haven't really noticed the facilities for them (vaguely remember soft-play next to the main bar).

Ice cream for the kids, something more liquid for the dads, I'd imagine. How long before the game does the bouncy castle etc. start?

Normally up at least an hour before game starts. Probably longer but I'm not usually there much earlier than that.

Don't know much about the 'before' but a lot of the 'after' of late has involved grown men weeping into their beer!!

Not that it gives any specifics, but I've just received an email to ST holders from Gus Mackay which says "To add something extra, this weekend is themed as a family fun day." So it seems that something will be laid on.

From yesterday's ES:

"Kick Off is at 3 pm but gates open at 1pm, so come early and enjoy the steel band, mascot racing, bouncy castle, face painting and ice cream and sweet stalls. You always get more than you expect at Harlequins Rugby League"

Well, I'm up for that! I'm determined to enjoy the afternoon regardless of the result.

I was expecting Bulls to put 40 on us. Does this mean it's more likely to be 50?

And if you get there really, really early (11am), then you'll get to see the girls U16s Whitbread Cup competition, with great London rivals South London and West London taking on newcomers Gravesend and northern champions, Castleford. So come along and cheer South London to victory !
