From what I could make out it seems there were some rowdy hospitality types using innapropriate language, someone who was sitting further back may be able to clarify that

| So..it would seem that there were some Hudds fans in a Box or at the back of the east causing a bit of a caffuffle (sic)....and some drunk younger fans in the North Stand.
Beggars the questions:
Who checks ID in the bars? Is it the supervisor or do all the staff do it.
If the Hudds fans were in a Box then a record of who paid for it will be available and something should be said. I remember someone getting spat on in Wales last year by some idiots in a box......not nice and difficult for a club to deal with as the money from sales of hospitality are vital but you have to draw a line somewhere.
The hudds fans refer to some "new faces", so maybe they were ex-pats who live in London and made an evening of it.

| I don't think they were Huddersfield fans. They seemed like football fans possibly students. One or two of them very drunk and obnoxious. Generally didn't seem to have much interest or knowledge of the game. Not sure why they were there at all really.

| They were a right bunch of obnoxious c***ts. The worst of which was some 50 something - who should know better - baiting our fans to come up and 'have a go'. If our stewards had any balls they would have thrown them all out without question. Fair play to the Quins fans who stood up and told them what they thought. I was sat a few rows on front and contented myself with picturing myself stamping on their necks whenever they piped up. Agree with JBuzza I think they were football fans. Evidenced by the fact they spend a good portion of the game watching the Bristol City v Newcastle game on TV. Thank god!

| They were football fans. They chanted going down to our team. Shows what they know about RL. The stewards should have got in there earlier.
On the subject of stewards I heard a very unpleasant story on Saturday. I was talking to a fan and he said that he had complained to a steward about some of the Salford fans' behaviour and how a family had to move because of it. Apparently the steward did nothing and made a quip along the lines that the RL team were going out of business so it didn't matter anyway.

| They were on a booze up from Bournemouth for a birthday of a Hudds fan who live down there. Met a couple who were very apologetic about the behaviour. They said that some of them had thought RL was like football (in terms of crowd). A few of them hadn't a clue abour RL as eveidenced by their chants of "going down!"

If the stewards won't deal with 'em what about the local plod? They'd have to send a few to any sporting gathering of a few thousand wouldn't they? Remember seeing some d!ckheads from Brighton being dealt with in a very handy manner by the Old Bill at Upton Park when they thought it would be fun to shower the crowd below with coins.

A couple of minutes before the end of the Salford game I went down the front to have a word with the so called stewards regarding their attitude to the Salford fans. After arguing the point that there were not fit to do their job after seeing the trouble the Salford fans were causing the bottled it, the steward told me to email the club.
I contacted someone at Harlequins and passed on the comments given to me by the steward. She sent me an email apologising for the attitude of the steward and passed it onto his company to deal with. She sais if any further trouble was to occur ask to speak to her at the time.
I have been going to football for years and used to foul language on the terraces but in Rugby League it is accepted that the fans are quite decent.it was the attitude of the stewards that made me complain officially to the club.
I did on the email to Harlequins say that if the stewards could not handle it I am sure the police would be happy to send down a couple of policeman down to sort out the trouble.

| I'm sit very close to the relevant box and to be fair the vast majority of them behaved well. One in particular was being obnoxious. It was pretty obvious that most of his friends were rather embarrassed by his conduct and did try to shut him up, stopped giving him booze etc. (A second acted up when it began to flare up.) A quiet word in their ear from a steward would probably have sorted it out before most people even realised it was going on. It would have been grossly unfair to throw them all out.

| As someone who sails very close to the edge I would recommend not naming people at the club directly. PB and DH are OK, but most of the back office team and especially the lasy mentioned above work their @rses off and aren't keen on publicity on these sites.
As for the stewards.......they are used to dealing with a union crowd.....and a couple of drunk northerners probably scare them wittless..
