| A game of two halves, or did we start playing when Saints had declared.
The 5 drives and a kick brought nowt so they decided to throw the ball around and improved beyond recognition. Once Orr was on, Dorn improved and so did the look of the side. A lot people headed for the bars after 30 mins (and who could blame them?) but we showed that with Purdo and Randall back we could still have a shout for the play-offs. Kicking to touch is still abysmal, couldn't we get the Union boys to show us how to do it? How good are Saints when you let them play? How blind was that ref, Gilmour was offside for most of the game. It may be hard to be a cowboy in Rochdale, how hard is it to be a League fan in London?

| Saints put the game to bed in the first half and did what was needed to keep it safe in the second. If they'd kept going it could have been worse for Quins. Some pride saved, true, it will be interesting to see what comes out of the home and way games with the Bulls. The referee had nothing to do with the result, that's grasping at straws, the better team won at a canter.

| ref was not helped by his TJ neither of them were heading back to watch the fwd pass!
but same for both teams so not putting blame on him
Did think that saints would have tried to nill us! so not convinced it was a case of em putting the cue on the rack, more us working out where the holes were
The 2 40/20's killed us as did the silly penalties! how many tries scored as a direct result of penalties and that worked for both teams

| Our first half display was an embarrassment, especially as we only really had three first choice players missing: Purdham, Randall, Howell.
That referee was hopeless - he seemed to be looking for reasons to blow his whistle (at least when we infringed) but ignored high tackles and repeated offsides, and that skinny young touch judge (a.k.a. David Miliband) who we seem to get every other home game might as well not be there for all the use he is. How did he not see Meli put his foot into touch in the build up to the try early in the second half? (I'm sure he did see it and just chose to do nothing.) Watching from the back of the stand on the halfway line it was clear there were forward passes in several of their tries.
We were second best and would have lost anyway though. At least we made a fight of it in the second half - I've seen us lose by 50 or 60 in similar circumstances before.

Please tell me you're joking??? Do we have Wigan fans that support us?

We were actually very, very bad and have been for around 6 weeks. No intensity about anything they did.

| After the match BM said that Howell and Randall are back next week and looking at the remaining fixtures I'd agree with him that we'll make the play-offs.

It's pretty sorry if we are so reliant on 2 or 3 key players. All the confidence seems to have vanished when attacking the line. One things for certain: we need to start winning soon. Warrington win today and we are out of the eight. If the Dragons win then that is another team which will be in serious contenders.

First half performance was the worst I can recall seeing from Broncos/Quins. It was truly depressing. Saints were scoring almost at will, aided by the penalty count and a couple of 40/20s that we didn't have any defensive position set for. The 30 mins would have been when Saints scored their 5th or 6th try (don't know which but it felt like about the 12th anyway).
We had a few key players out but Saints had more missing.

| First half was Men against Boys. Totally agree that Luke Dorn didn't get going until Danny Orr returned.
The first half could be summed up by a comment that someone sat next to me watching their first ever game of RL made"Why are the men in multi-coloured shirts running straight into the men in green shirts, whereas the men in the green shirts are running straight through the gaps between the men in multi coloured shirts?"[/i
As for the second half, to be honest I think it was more a case of Saints being 34-0 up and the match won, so they didn't need to get out of fifth gear.
Still, at least behind me in the executive boxes there was a Union fan who made me laugh when I overheard him explain to a woman"Oh yes, well they used to be London Broncos, and played their home matches at Wembley Stadium. I think they were linked to an American Football team originally."[/i
