Greetings one & all,

Sorry to bundle so many posts into one, but it's easier this way...

As you'll all know by now, the Stoop will be hosting Aus v NZ on the 24th Oct, k.o. 8pm. If you haven't yet picked up your tickets, you can do so here - icon_lol.gif

So, please spread the word and come along for a few beverages if you're in London.

Finally, and on a totally different topic, we at LondonRL are enormously keen to expand our match official numbers, so spread the word below from the beautifully titled "The London and the South Rugby League Match Officials Society...."

Thanks for listening!
Ady

"As we all know the game of Rugby League wouldn't be able to function without the input of a Match Official. The game as a whole,
from juniors to Super League needs to have a third 'team' on the pitch to look after the game and the players during play.

The London and the South Rugby League Match Officials Society (LSRLMOS) is always on the lookout for new officials to support the ever expanding game in the South.
Once qualified, our officials officiate in a wide variety of competitions including the London Junior League, London Amateur League, Rugby League Conference,
Student Rugby League and the National Youth League.

Our more senior officials are involved in the Super League, Carnegie Challenge Cup, Co-Operative Championship, Northern Rail Cup and the SL Academy Leagues.
There are also opportunities for officials in National and International representative games.

Once you pass your course, you will be helped along by the society development team who will guide you using their combined experience and help
you become the best match official possible.

If you can see yourself being one of the top referees in the country, we have the ability to help you realise your goals.

Become a referee.
If you are interested in becoming a match official, please log onto our website at
www.lsrlmos.co.uk or contact Tom Mather at tpmather@hotmail.co.uk "

Mainly because the leagues tend to be split London and other Southern leagues
LONDON!!! junior league
LONDON am league
and then National youth league and conference leagues, conference goes as far down as Weymouth, exeter, taunton in the SW

The London and south society covers the whole area, hence the name

Just bought some tickets over the phone...

Have been trying for four days to buy online without any luck at all. Tried all combinations of price range and quantity.

Top effort by the RFL trying to sell tickets to a test match in LONDON to a neutral game. If I wasnt such an league fan I would have given up. I wonder how many have walked away due to the same problems I have experienced.

Call operator said it wasnt his problem when I notified him. As a former ticketing manager for a Major player in Australian sport, I am horrified.

.....Kangaroos RL team to take part in London Q&A session

Members of the Australian Rugby League touring party over in the UK for the upcoming Gillette Four Nations tournament will be taking part in a Question and Answers session at the Shepherd’s Bush Walkabout Bar on Tuesday October 20.

Hosted by BBC Radio Five Live’s George Riley and starting at 7.30pm the event is free of charge and open to all members of the public. It will give supporters the opportunity to meet some current and former Kangaroos who will be involved in the Kangaroos opening fixture against World Champions New Zealand at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday October 24.

The fixture at the Twickenham Stoop will be a repeat of last year’s World Cup Final which created one of sports’ greatest shocks when the Kiwis ran out 34-20 winners. After facing the Kiwis, Australia will play England at the DW Stadium, Wigan on Saturday October 31 and France in Paris on Saturday November 7. The final will be at Elland Road, Leeds on Saturday 14 November.

Ady Spencer, the RFL’s London Business Development Manager, said: “This is great opportunity for anyone interested in Rugby to meet and question some of the best players in the world.
“The game at Twickenham Stoop promises to be a real classic with the Kangaroos gunning for revenge and determined to show they are still the world’s number one side.”

The BBC’s George Riley said: “It should be a really exciting evening for all fans of Rugby. It’s not often you get to meet some of the best players in the world and I’m sure many fans will have questions about the Kangaroos’ shock World Cup Final victory against New Zealand last year.”

The Q&A evening starts at 7.30pm and will finish at 9.30pm.

To buy tickets for Australia’s opening Gillette Four Nations fixture against New Zealand, please call 0844 856 11 13 or visit www.gillette4nations.co.uk. Tickets start from £20.

WARNING WARNING TRAVEL PROBLEMS ON THE MATCH DAY.

Have just been reading a Tube circular which warns that on the weekend of the Aussie v Kiwi match there will be TRACK REFURBISHMENTS on both the District Line from HAMMERSMITH to RICHMOND & EALING and on the Picadilly Line between HAMMERSMITH & NORTHFIELDS.

Great timing........RFL, you should have checked with London Transport about their 'refurbishment' plans before selecting the Twickenham Stoop for the match.

It will mean that the only train route from north, east and central areas will be via Waterloo to the infamous SW trains to Twickenham and then a long hike thru the back streets to the Stoop.

PS: What a contrast to Sydney travel on Grand Final day. Your ticket included FREE TRAVEL to/from the venue.!!! icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Quote: "PS

Big deal-Club Wembley get a free train from London on match day.

What you are failing to understand is Sydney is a village compared to London.

Some 14000 max crowd doesn't compare to 70000 for what is in essence the FA cup final for the convicts

But hey if it makes you feel better or hopefully means you wont be at the Stoop all the better-

Ps how did you get on with the Aussies you whinging swine-I hope they dont think we are all like you as there will be no barmen to serve the beer around the town

Quote: Windy one "267 Hammersmith to Twickenham Simples.
Good idea but what about the 'capacity' on the route @ 60+ per bus! It means a very early start and late home arrival etc etc......

Also do not fancy the walk through the local back streets......post match no toilets on the route so it will have to be the front gardens again......not good for London RL but the Aussies & Kiwis don't care it's only one game.
