Quote: "Well, if we play next week like we did at fev, recruitment issue ramps up. Promotion is a double edge sword, majority of our squad is P/T how many could step up to SL standard, how many would want to or be able to commit full time!? Majority of current squad could be playing themselves out of contention for next year'"
You would think it would be something the club had planned and made consideration for, no matter how unlikely it may have seemed at the season start.
Perhaps the answer would be some sort of hybrid model, with a small core of full timers supplemented by those who can't make the move into a full-time environment. Bradford did something similar not too long ago, as did Toulouse before they went full-time across the board.
I think the broader issue would be more on incoming recruitment than our existing playing group. It would be difficult to make top flight quality pickups at this time of year, so I guess we would be reliant on SL loans/dual reg and players from the lower grades down under.
Ultimately, it's an issue I would quite like to be worrying about after 80 minutes on Sunday!
