Quote orangeman="orangeman"Gus Mackay's appointment, the name reverting back and subsequent move to the hive can be seen as key moments, but Loubser has been in place now for nearly a decade.
Yes, Hughes is a truly awful owner, but he is not alone in being culpable......one rat has already left the sinking ship and you wonder how long it'll be before Loubser follows suit.'"
Gus Mackay's appointment: beyond disaster. Move to the Hive: worse than that (if that's possible).
But name reverting back a bad thing? Sorry, not for me. I was never happy being a perfunctory adjunct to a RU club where we had averaged nearly three times their crowds at *their ground* a few years before.
No one else will remember this. but when we played at The Stoop against Halifax(?) in the Challenge Cup back in the Centenary Season (again it's a ?), there was one tiny member's stand and the rest was a rope around a field. And on that member's stand they had posters for a book that read "Brian Moore: Scourge of the Establishment, Man of the People". "Scourge of the Establishment" who plays for England RU? (And I may be wrong, but wasn't his "profession" stockbroker at the time?) Sorry, no: I laughed then, and I still think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
But I'm surprised you, orangeman, are saying this: Hughes employed them so it's his fault.
