WQ not quiet at all. Was not at the swinton game so cant comment. This thread is no longer about the haven game its turned into a rant about how the club is run. As you say i am an apologist, and as such not intetested really in continued commenting on how the xlub should be run or who should be doing what! I cant change any of that, all i can do is turn up watch the rugby support my team.
No longer defending the club is an intetesting comment though, i have only evr said i have no say in the way the club is run! Therfore its pointless me saying how i think it should be run, DH pays the wages, without him no wages paid simple fact. I cant change that, if thats being an apologist fine am an apologist
Twitter post from a fan of a club that have been around a long time, with the odd high and some very bad lows. But its an interesting post that sums up my approach to what being a fan of a club is.
So @YorkKnightsFans I’ve had a good old vent & calmed down. The season proving far tougher than we thought so all we can do is turn out in numbers next week vs Newcastle. Get behind @YorkKnightsRLFC in their hour of need. It’s OUR club and we love it so let’s be 18th man again. https://t.co/AcHRhJBh2w

York City Knights have been a shining example in how to regenerate and re-energise with excellent fan attraction and retention strategies
I was there when Oxford won in York. The home club was absolutely in a mess and there was a real risk the new stadium would see them horrendously overshadowed by York City. I also saw them meet Oxford RL at an NCL stadium as they hung on in there hoping the new stadium would appear, watched by an aging group of diehards.
A proven track record in these areas leaves a club with a bit of credit in the fan bank on bad days.
I totally agree there are lessons to be learnt from York, and not just by the fans.
Edited to say, and to be fair to the club, earlier this season Broncos referred to York as our good friends so it is possible they have been consulting York. It was warmer than the usual comment, suggesting there may be something underpinning it. It would certainly make sense for them to do so. It would also make sense not to spend too much marketing to the Ealing area so perhaps there is a plan?
