A lot of first choice players missing today. The experience gained in the game by the younger players can only be a good thing.
Okay we lost, but we no longer take the cup seriously. Is anybody surprised by the result. I know I am not.

Think both teams looked rusty, too many balls going to ground. Some daft penatlies given away. Poor kicking options, york were better in that department.
Impressed with a couple of ours, thought navarette was poor though, expected a bit more from him.
On paper York were a much better side

Defensively we were pretty well organised but lacked creativity in attack.

Thought part time York looked as fit or fitter than us, maybe in part due to their extra size on the pitch.

Missing 8/9 first team regulars And 3/4 of our guys carrying knocks. Did well to get 17 out there

Defended well in first half against a big but quite average attacking unit

Given the players we used I thought they went well. Wardy seems to be playing all the squad over the 2 CC games.
Listening to the commentators we do seem to have a number of injuries
2 x broken cheekbones
Infection in leg (Sammut)
plus others....

Clearly being used a pre-season competition. Good to see the young lads giving it a go, they'll be better fr having played that game.

Neither team look anywhere near Toulouse - the only question against them winning the Championship is if they'll play enough games this season, given the covid restrictions etc. If they do, it's their's for the taking.

he was better last week.....good last ditch tackle on the break through line ...but otherwise 5/10

I think that the club did the right thing in taking these two cup[ games as pre season friendlies.
Players promoted up from the Academy such as Oli Leyland and Rian Horsman, will have taken a lot from that game.
We were never going to win the Challenge Cup anyway.

I thought they both went well. Where did Davis go, the hooker. The guy that stood in wasn't crisp with his passing and put us under pressure.
