Don't agree DC1. Beaumont for all his failings is a reasonably successful business man, and he is hardly likely to be signing players without having some understanding of funding, other income steams, etc and an appreciation of his cash flow commitments with said player contracts in place. I don't for one minute think he is the sort of bloke that is willing to take huge chances on the money he is committing to Leigh RL. |

Clubs are gambling.We still don’t know what next seasons central funding will be. We haven’t a clue what the 2022+ TV deal will look like, worst case Is no cash from SL.
All clubs should be planning to be cash flow positive under all scenarios next year.

Why not? With no furlough available clubs will have to pay players wages, so why not play games behind closed doors and stream games? Some revenue is better than none. |

Indeed, in non league football it seems it is being left down to each club to sort out streaming platforms, whether to charge etc. Perhaps there is an opportunity for the RFL to help out clubs below SL by providing a common approach to streaming which could enable some much needed matchday revenue to flow in. |
