One up/down between divisions and possibly a 2nd bottom v second top million pound game. Clubs apply to join every 3 years, at which point failing clubs can be replaced or the leagues expanded. The gap would be closer and fixtures very competitive in both comps, I also believe in min spends not max'"
I'd settle for a 16 teams (2 conferences of
in a licensed SL with strict criteria surrounding player development, financial sustainability and other independently monitored facets surrounding the running of the clubs in general. Play your conference buddies H&A and the other conference teams once meaning 22 games with the top 2 in each conference playing semi's and the winners the GF and the bottom clubs in either conference playing off with the loser to play the top 2nd tier team in a MPG.
I believe that this system would be the current 12 SL sides with the top 4 of the Championship 2018 joining.
I don't think there is either the player pool nor the finance to support 20 sides at a decent level in the UK at present, but if all 16 sides were enforced to run academy sides with a view to having reserve grades as mandatory after 5 years, then I believe we would see the player pool grow.
