A bit scrambled after a bad run home but a few thoughts.

The best team lost. We won this due to being full time. Oldham started to blow just before the final try.

Good job they didn't kick an easy 2 in the first half.

Thought we benefited from a couple of key 50/50 calls in the first half.

London were a shambles at points but deserve credit for hanging on in there and finding a way to win. At half time I said I thought we'd make them pay for not taking more of their first half chances. Not something I'd have said two seasons ago.

Oldham played nearly the entire 2nd half without a key playmaker due to injury.

The pack were embarrassing compared to Oldham.

Discipline could have cost us. Good to see Junior replaced after a stupid foul. He didn't return. Suspect him and Mark Offerdahl, the coach just doesn't seem to rate him, will be free to do a bit of sightseeing next Sunday.

Jarrod was an enigma, mixing the embarrassing with some excellent work.

Keiran desperately needs a good game to boost his confidence.

But with injuries to Battye and Spencer, at least 1 will have to be involved.
Can't see Bustin and/or Bienek both being checked in.

a very good summary. Without Spencer we lack size. Evans and Gee are not going to muscle their way down the middle. So it does require hard work and effort. I can see why Junior didn't make it in NRL, doesn't get involved enough and shows indiscipline. Perhaps better will come in warmer weather. Oldham chose to pressure Sammut, Kear and Dixon and it worked. Really do need to find some fluency.

To be fair we do seem go have been set up with a view to playing on a fast pitch on a sunny day not a mucky day on a muddy pitch.

The worrying bit really was the lack of heart in places. Phil Joy may not be the biggest but I'd have swapped him for any of our pack yesterday. You can't buy heart. Incidentally best wishes to him, he went off in the dying minutes with what looked like a bad arm injury. He was immense for them.

It was ever thus - potentially a very high quality player, but he has been inconsistent wherever he has gone, so unlikely to change now.

The positive is we are winning games we would have lost 2/3 seasons ago. Battye and spencer are big losses. Offendahl i liked last season, so not sure what has happened, Junior sounds like we need to see the sun out. win at Dewsbury, beat Bradford we will be where we expected to be...................
