| Very sad, many trips to York to watch Hull FC over the years............
Think few, if any, Rugby League teams are in any kind strong financial position and almost all depend upon the generosity of owners. Why I have never criticised DH, we would not be around if it wasn't for him.

| Read about this earlier, it is a real shame for them to fold. It seems that they had a falling out with the council and could not get things sorted out, had no home
and their income dried up.
Our next opponents, Halifax are in a similar position regarding The Shay. I believe they only have Income from gate money, TV money from RFL and sponsorship. They are going to court with the council over rent due on The Shay. Not looking too good.
In addition earlier this season a Championship team were late in paying their players. Further Workington have asked their players to take a pay cut.
Thank god for David Hughes !!!!!!

| There seems to be more to this than first meets the eye. Many RL fans in the area think this could be a good thing. To further add confusion the Council and York City have issued a statement saying they are working with the RFL to try and save the club whilst two of the clubs directors have resigned and may not be happy with events in the past few days.
Hopefully RL can survive in York. Always a good away trip even if the old athletics track out of town stadium was an awful place to watch rugby.

| If only they had stayed at Wigginton road
In the city, walkable from the centre, lovely little ground, ah those were the days, they even beat the kiwi touring team there.

| Great place to go to watch rugby league. Always seems a latent interest in the sport but isn't always converted into support.
Unfortunately their owner is a bit of a loon and this is the latest occasion he has gone in for brinkmanship and provocation. Seems York council (two regimes of different political persuasions), York City and RFL have all had a gutfull of him. If you need further evidence check out his comments about a disabled fan last year
