| Maintaining the status quo is certainly NOT going to work. DH grasps this small opportunity which we can build on with maybe a couple of good props if they come up or its game set and match.

| This time last season had anyone said Soward would be at London what would have been the response.
Can always hope, apart from the lack of grunt up front and shear physicality, its a lack of direction and leadership thats letting us down, Soward brought that last year, Benji could do the same, grab games by the scruff and direct guys round the park.

| In RLW they claim that he's settled in NZ and the wife is happy as she's got a show on radio and has just landed a gig on a tv cook show and is very happy there. so they think any move to SL would be fairly remote in their opinion.
But like I few others here, be great if happened, but if honest I would prefer the money spend on a couple of big experienced forwards who have some grunt going forward.

| Would be a complete waste of money. Even if we ignore the fact that he's spent the last 3 or 4 seasons living off his past performances, at his very best he was a player that did fantastic things in broken play. He was never an organiser, he was never a structured player, he was never particularly great in defence. But behind a strong pack that was capable of bending the opponents' line and creating half openings he was amazingly good at exploiting them.
What good, exactly, would he do behind our undersized and overworked forwards?

Tend to agree with that. Also whether he has the same temperament. Would certainly add a few to the gate though.

Completely agree. Yes he'd improve us, but wouldn't offer value for money

depends on who's paying his wages?
given he'd probably add 500 or so a time to the remaining home gates at a score a pop, AK might consider paying half his wages.....then it would be an investment worth looking at.

| AK?? To invest money when DH will not?? Gutters, sometimes you make me chuckle....
I do see your point, but lets face it, it's highly unlikely.

| And would be really add 500 to the gate? Did Soward make an impact in terms of crowds, genuine question.

Without the stats I really couldn't say, anyway it was so late in the season when Super Jamie arrived that many fans had knocked it on the head I think. Mind you we looked to have taken more to an away game (Sheffield in the CC) last year when he was in the team than I'd seen for some time! Whatever the case he certainly made the games he played for us more enjoyable to watch!

I agree Rob, definitely enjoyed watching the team more with Soward in the side. And I'm sure I would with Benji too, but enjoyment and winning games are different things in this respect I think. I don't know if any top level props are available but that's where we should be looking
