Reading on TRL that the finances haven't been agreed yet. The RFL want to take the money saved from dropping two SL clubs and give it to the Championship clubs. The SL clubs, however, are saying that it's their money because they generate it and want to keep it.
Truth is they do generate it because Sky pay for SL, no-one pays for the Championship. And Sky aren't gong to show games from the Championship, even under the new format, at most just a couple after the split occurs. The SL clubs need that money, we all know that, so why should they give it to the Championship clubs?
We could well end up with a middle 8 that sees 4 SL clubs on 1.3million central funding meeting 4 Ch. clubs on 90K central funding. That'll be interesting to watch!

David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_66844.jpg
Not mentioned by Rimmer but I assume this rejig will see the demise of the stupid `Club Call` farce in the playoffs.
Not convinced that fans will flock to the playoffs as anticipated....as we all know RL fans (northerners) are not keen on anything that they have to pay extra for over and above their ST (membership scheme in our case).
