Salford Red Devils RLFC.
Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]:

Quote: jaybs "I'm also not totally convinced with the good Dr! he has no grounding in the game, it was only from his young son watching St Helens, it was rumoured locally that he tried to invest in Saints, but nothing as we know came of it. Then he wanted to take over the two Oldham clubs football and RL, discussions did not go as fast as he wanted so he is now looking at Swinton? and he is still not happy that he just can't spend whatever he wanted to bring success, Koukash wants to develop the ground around the ground with sports bars and a casino, to try and attract the major businessmen who may also then take boxes. At one time when Snape was owner Friday night's were Top at The Weaste, he did it with big money signings. I really hope that Dr Koukash does give it time, he has named one of his horses after Noble and they both goes to races together, but very successful businessman do not like not being at the Top of the Game. We need more like him, but can we allow those with money to buy success over the rest? is that going backwards?'"

Marwan Koukash’s young son is infact two years old. What really happened was Eamon McManus invited him as a guest to St Helens a couple of occasions, Koukash fell in love with the sport and said he would like to get involved if the opportunity arose at St Helens as it was his local team. On an unrelated business trip to Dubai, he (fortunately for us) sat next to Nigel Wood who mentioned Salford City Reds and the rest is history. With regards to Oldham FC and RLFC, he was dealing with two different owners with two very different agendas. Since his interest in those clubs Swinton have found themselves in serious financial troubles and as they are within the city of Salford I think Marwan would favour investing in the Lions and reinvigorating rugby league in Salford as a whole.

He’s not happy that he cannot spend what he wants because he can see the game is not only stagnating but also going backwards. Not only can we not now attract top quality imports, we can’t even retain our best and half decent talent. As a result, the NRL and Australian game in general is improving and getting stronger where as the Super League is weakening by the year. Koukash has named a horse after Brian Noble, Rangi Chase, Adrian Morley and soon Martin Gleeson too.

As someone who has been part of Koukash’s 11 months reign thus far, the sport needs many more men like him. He isn’t a flash in the pan, the man is passionate about the sport and will openly admit he has fell in love with all thing Salford RLFC and rugby league. I have no doubts the man will deliver when he promises trophies at Salford, look at what he has done thus far? Whilst our team for 2014 isnt good enough to win the league, it is a damn site better than what we had this season and if we can continue with that kind of gradual progression we’ll be challenging the top 4 in no time.

I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg

My error about his son, I know he has 5 children, perhaps one of his elder daughters showed some interest in the Saints< My Mother is from Rainford where he lives, and there are many different stories of his connections to St Helens and McManus, even in the media.

I have no doubt he is a very successful businessman, when you think how it is only a short period since he started with one horse! perhaps more as a hobby! and I have always praised him and said how good he is for the game, his many great business contacts it would be good for the game if he may introduce one to the London Club I support!

I stand by that success is not so easy to come, money does not buy everything, look at the money our owner has put into the club, Manchester has the same problem as we do, people in the main in Manchester do not take to rugby league that easy, the old Salford Club was based around a tight community and then Friday night rugby attracted many neutral supporters, I used to attend a lot! It will be interesting if the team is successful will it attract large attendances? it has not worked that way with Huddersfield. Why is it that a failing Sale club at one time, doing a little better this season attracted larger attendances at the same ground?

I wish Salford and The Good Doctor every success!
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have[/quote:1gysl9ow]
You poor poor obsessed fat ex vichyballin potato thieving stoaway.[/quote:1gysl9ow]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_6679.png

Quote: Tre Cool "I don't see any set of circumstances where ST sales in SL will reduce as a result of a successful World Cup. It's just negativity for the sake of it.'"

Negativity for the sake of it would be "the RLWC will have no lasting impact on the game in the UK".....I am questioning ST sales and it remains to be seen if it impacts on ST sales.......regardless of the RLWC being successful or not, money that would have been spent on ST's so far may well have been invested in RLWC games, travel, accommodation. It's a valid point, not negative for the sake of it.

Quote: gutterfax "the good Dr will soon lose interest if Salford aren't near the top'"

I doubt it after investing (unsecured) so much time & money into the club. He wont walk away. He has over 100 horses and only 20 or so win regularly so he is used to failure! No I think hes in it for the long haul and there have been some good signings already for 2015 some from your Country.

Always read the small print...[/color:1h9kz7p7]:

it's quite funny how a thread about London Bronco's survival can be turned into yet another Dr. Koukash slagging off thread lol

Although I am a life-long Salford fan I hope London find their own Dr. K. who can re-invigorate the club and drive it forward. Not only because RL needs a strong, successful London presence but because I got my wife into watching this sport - she chose the Broncos as her club as she's originally from Walthamstow.
