Myself & 9 others are down Friday Night back Sunday!

A quick warning for those returning by train on the day. Last time I went to Cardiff, for the Challenge Cup final, I had a specific train reservation at about 8.00. On returning to the station it was chaos and on asking if I could get into the station as my train was due I was told no, I'd have to queue as no specific timed tickets should have been issued post match. I managed to get on my last connecting train. There have been lots of big events since then and hopefully it is a thing of the past. Possibly worth checking on arrival though.

Illness permitting I'm driving this time, lots of antibiotics in me so no pubs this time.

Heading to Bristol after work tommorow evening for a couiple of nights in Bristol

Planning to go for the day - now worried about trains!

If that is a reference to my post its only fair to record the process of getting people on trains was smooth. I just nearly came a cropper due to a combination of an early last connection and not being allowed on the train I had booked, which was one of the later ones anyway.

There will be a lot of passenger assistants around tomorrow if you have concerns just check on arrival whether specified train tickets will be valid, if not factor that into your arrival time at the station.

Millennium Stadium is a regular host to big events. I suspect they will be on top of it now.

Several years ago we went to a Magic Weekend in Cardiff with advanced train bookings (from Southampton). After buying the tickets there were works announced meaning there were buses from Bristol Parkway to Temple Meads. When we got to Temple Meads there were no more trains to Southampton but because we had tickets we got home (no charge) by taxi!! There were two brothers in the saker boat as us originally from Hill and we had a great journey home.
