| Quote gutterfax="gutterfax"Yep....but it shows how low we've gone when fans are relieved by a loss not being a hammering.

i was left disgusted again at the stoop tonight. yes there was more effort and pride on display from the players than we're used to seeing which i'm of course pleased about, but the way people were celebrating it at the end you'd have thought that we'd won the game. not to mention that for all the effort there was still bucketloads of sloppy play, clueless attacking and soft defence which hardly deserved the standing ovation they received at the end.
i think TR's comments summed up the collective feeling. when asked if he was frustrated that the team had played well only now when there's nothing left to play for and asked if he would have any thoughts about what might have been this season, he denied being frustrated and said that he was proud of the performance. personally speaking, i'm fecking frustrated about it and it's going to take more than one game where the team leaves nothing out there for me to forget the rest of this debacle of a season on the pitch.
props to soward- "we've done a bit better but we still haven't got the win, good enough isn't good enough". this is the winner's attitude that the club at large lacks, sadly i feel down to its fans

Good post. Clearly a better effort but still lots of errors and some dismal defense in a low intensity game.
The 80 mins from Kaufusi intrigued me. I'm not sure he actually put in any more effort than normal but his scoot from dummy half that led to the first try was a real surprise (not least to the Leeds defense).
I hope the club wasn't counting me in its claims of a standing ovation at the end. I was just standing up to leave.

| Quote Horatio Yed="Horatio Yed"They showed heart today though, i can always forgive a loss with any team if they play with pride but come up short, Soward is class, shame he's going back to Oz.
I even thought the fans had more about them today, your drummer is rubbish but he's a loud sod.
More promising all around but at the end still a loss, albeit a guns blazing rather than a capitulation.

Excuse me sir, pants certainly but drunk not. It would have helped because rob13s post is spot on and you need to be anaesthetised to watch that lot.
Typified by having an attacking scrum with about 6 to go and we didn't rush to get the clock stopped.
As for Elrick and his drum, if he tries that again it is being inserted into his anatomy through a certain passage (linked to pants) sideways!

| I thought that was a great effort - energy and enthusiasm, almost as if they'd had a psychologist in between Saturday and last night. Different attitude from the players.
And another poor show from the ref.
However, that question about consistency to Rea was telling. He paused and then couldn't and wouldn't answer it before descending into that bland non-speak stuff.

| Lot better performance last night, Luke Dorn raised his game and gave everything along with Jamie Soward. It was only basic rugby, and slow, but at least better. Some strong running from Kafusi! Tackling and defence were much better.
There,is no doubt that Leeds are well drilled, but I thought at times, too clinical, the same tactic nearly every time, dummy player, after dummy player.
Just wish we would get a better rub of the green, and that many referees would at least be equal to both sides, at least protect players from high tackles! What annoys me with some referees is they look so weak, they seem to have no authority, players looked up to such as Clay & Naughton, they came over as an authoritative figure all the time! Roby stood in some weird positions at times, so far away from the ball, no wonder he could not see forward passes.
Still no clearer what our plans are for next season, as we see player after player tell us they are leaving. Are we recruiting? if so, it should not be Rea, he has to go! Just watched the game on TV which I recorded and someone like Shaun McCrea was so on the ball about us.

| Well I have to say I quite enjoyed my first Broncos game. I suppose from reading posts on here and about crowds in SL in general I had fairly low expectations but the people who were there were pretty vocal and the players can't complain about the support they had taken the pitch and coming off at half-time.
In terms of the performance, the first try was pretty soft but they defended kicks pretty well after that (or did enough to put Leeds off). One or two out defence is fairly solid but it seemed to be when Leeds went wide they had more joy - more space and the one-on-one tackling was not so good. It seemed as the game went on Leeds had more territory so by the 5th tackle they were looking at grubbers/chips to the in-goal area whereas we were having to kick long for territory. Soward is pure class though - that chip and chase where offloaded to the young lad was nicely done. Shame about the kid fumbling but I thought he otherwise showed up pretty well, made a few metres in contact and kept going.
Now to the ref. He seemed to miss countless forward passes! Being a newbie maybe I'm not used to it but if the ref is constantly 10m away "reffing" (use the term loosely) the offside line, then how can he see whether a pass is forward or not from the play-the-ball. It's clearly how you have to ref League but if you're not up with the ball you'll miss those marginal calls all day long. Maybe his touch judges should help him out a bit more.
Overall I enjoyed it - would like to think that kind of performance could be a baseline to improve but it sounds like inconsistency is a huge problem so maybe I got lucky on a day when we were more up than down!

| Glad that you enjoyed your first game Mooro, just hope we continue in Super League and you become a loyal fan.
Why when referee Roby could not hear the video ref on his earphones, did Ganson not put the decision on the screen.
Just read on the Daily Mail, Leeds fans saying what a great game Roby had as referee compared to such as Childes and Thailer, what a Joke!

| A creditable showing and a marked improvement on saturday - I think that's all we could expect given we were playing Leeds, who hardly got out of first gear.
Impressed by Soward and Kaufusi. Sarginson had his best game in a while. We had enough of the ball to make it a competetive game and I think we wasted enough possession when we could have made it even closer.
