I went to the last one five or six years ago and really enjoyed the game. I didn't know anything about the rules beforehand but found it easy to pick up and follow.

There did seem to be a lot of Aussie idiots in attendance, although I was in a Surrey CCC members' area in the pavilion top so didn't have to suffer them at close quarters. These idiots included the worst streaker I've ever seen. He ran on in his trousers, tried to pull them off as he was running, but they got stuck around his ankles and he fell flat on his face.

I'd go again if I was free but I'm already going to football that day. Speaking of which there's also a football match being staged at The Oval on Wednesday 7 November between Royal Engineers and The Wanderers, which were the two clubs that contested the first ever FA Cup Final on the same ground in 1872.

It's been a few years since one of these took place, but seem to remember it usually attracts a crowd somewhere between 50-75% of capacity. Doubt it will sell out.
