| I can't believe that we are actually even debating this. How can we deride fans for leaving at half time of the second match of the London Double Header? For starters Harlequins and Wasps fans were the vast majority of those who left at half time of the second match. Their teams were not involved in the second match, so I don't see how anyone can knock supporters for staying for half of a match that didn't involve their team!
Also why on earth is someone essentially knocking a crowd of 63,000 when we are scrambling to get 2,000?!

| The reason people were streaming out half way through the Safacens v Reading Irish game was because it was the direst game ever seen.
Stop-start, slow, stodgy, unimaginative. People were willing it to end. The sort of game that the law changes in RU were supposed to make a thing of the past.
I was sat there in my obviously RL shirt and started chanting "This is sh*te, this is sh*te, this is sh*te" and all the union fans around me joined in! That's how bad it was.
On the other hand the Wycombe Wasps v Harlequins was as good a game of rugby as you'll see. Of either code.
On the subject of attendance, I'd advise caution in the conclusions you draw.
I was there in the pub looking at my watch trying to encourage people to leave so we'd make kick off, and the response was "It's the double header, it doesn't matter if you miss part of the first game". And these were Quins fans!
It felt very much like a social occasion with a bit of rugby thrown in. Fair play, it's a good marketing concept, but the double header is probably as relevant to the RU season as the Magic Weekend is to ours.
Suggesting that 63,000 means that each of those clubs has 15,000+ support is a bit of a stretch. Several people I spoke to openly admitted that was the only game they'd go to all season.
We all know how poorly run the Broncos are, but I don't think last Saturday adds to the discussion/debate on that.

Is the capitalised 'LONDON' because you regard my quips regarding High Wycombe and Reading as cheap shots? Don't get me wrong, good luck to them. But in the end two RU clubs have chosen to move away from London and build a fan base. Unless we're planning on doing the same I think their example is of little relevance to us.

We've got just under 1,000 season ticket holders, so on that measure their business is 2.5 times bigger than Broncos.

Not bad when you consider there are soccer teams in London at least 30 times bigger than us.
