mind you i have been considering watching the under 20's and then leaving when the senior team take the field.
never been to Gillingham before, bit of a shock when we went from green fields to the town. thought i was in Wakefield.
however slagging off other towns not the agenda.
i genuinely think its a good idea to take games on the road if there is interest in that town. only 2 a season but spaced out rather than two on the trot. take the game to fans if there is interest. seem to do that in OZ alot.
thought Gillingham ground was rubbish. MEMS stand was awkward seating having to sit at opposite ends in upper tier unless you were vip. ran out of programmes at 1.30pm and ran out of beer at half time. no game clock that i could see, but hull fans knew as they counted down ??? upon leaving was chatting to some Hull fans, they didnt get into the ground until just before halftime, some fiasco with purchasing tickets. saw long queue of them as i walked towards the ground. i think thats disgusting, considering these hopefully paying hull fans had travelled so far and helped swell the gate.
i did enjoy Leyton Orients ground. good view, good atmosphere, beer was cheap. i live near Twickenham so would be a wrench if had to make the trip to orient for each game knowing your going to lose. if we were more competitive then would at least take 80 min journey with hope, you wouldnt do that now.
had such high hopes we might win as many as we lose this season with new players. were they not playing at twickenham have to say i would have to consider not wasting my time to see a team so lacking in all depts. shipping 30-40 points a game and one up attacking rugby is not my idea of an entertaining afternoon out. i am season ticket holder so would have foregone my tickets, as enjoying my spare time more important than the cost of ticket i would be writing off. lose to widnes, think i wont bother making the 10 min car journey anymore until things improve. sure the season review will make things great again
anyone know why Luke Dorn not playing, probably our most potent strike player..
