| Sorry giving duff information about the trains. We seem to have had engineering works every weekend but I think this coming Sunday is ok. Every Challenge Cup day we go to have a drink at the Allsops Arms at Marylebone and every year there are quite a few Hull fans sitting outside who wear black tops with gold lettering, can't think of the club name (obviously a local club from Hull). Anybody from Hull recognise themselves and coming down for the match. They always chat to me every year.

| Quote Marilyn="Marilyn"Torbreck that certainly is the easiest option taking the High Speed from St. Pancras. Just recheck the times on Saturday as there is engineering works again on my line affecting the up trains into London i'" Ta. I've just rechecked on thetrainline.com and the rail planner app on my phone (the app picked the chaos on the Waterloo->Twickenham line for the Hudds match a week before) and it looks like the 11:25->12:06 and 12:28->13:12 are still running. I'll re-check on Sunday morning though & fingers crossed it'll still be OK.

| You're telling me - my annual rail season ticket went up by a lot to subsidise the high speed trains. We all think it is a conspiracy theory to force people to use them to commute to London. Very good service if you want to go to London at weekend but for daily work commute puts time on my journey. Has anybody you are travelling with got a railcard to get a discount?

| Quote Marilyn="Marilyn"Has anybody you are travelling with got a railcard to get a discount?'" Yes, an Adult Super Off-Peak Day Return is £13.55 with a networkrail card which is valid on the HS1 trains.
Interesting pricing though. My station to KingsX = £6.60 and then StPancras to Gillingham = £13.55 which comes to £20.15. But my station to Gillingham = £21.90 so cheaper to buy the 2 separate returns than 1 direct ticket! Stupid how they work out the fares.

I've often found that separate train tickets can work out a lot cheaper than direct ones! Dunno which genius thought up the system but that seems to be the way it is!

| This......from the coach who does not like to make excuses......pre-empting another loss I suspect.
London Broncos coach Rob Powell says playing games away from the Twickenham Stoop erodes their home advantage.
The Super League side played at Leyton Orient's Brisbane Road earlier this month and face Hull FC at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium on Sunday.
He told BBC London 94.9: "It's an away day. It's good we take the game to new places but we have to travel the morning of the game.
"It takes away a bit of our advantage from a performance perspective."
He added: "It's good we showcase ourselves in Kent, where there are good things going on with the Medway Dragons, but it is another away day."
Heavens knows the biggest disadvantage we have is him.

He doesn't do himself any favours does he, if we had fortress Stoop with outstanding performances there he could have a small point, but as it is? deary me.
