Is full-pro RL actually sustainable long-term? The clubs would be better off semi-pro.

I feel sorry for the Bradford fans but I don't like the Bradford club because of their lack of support for us. (and they nicked The Worlord and turned him into a championship player

The RFL licensing system is a complete farce and the Bulls spent money on players for 2012 that would have been better spent on the Bulls surviving as a going concern.

I wonder what this would mean for the game on the road. Week off if there were no Bulls presumably?

Points deuctions only take affect if the club go into administration (i believe).

I suspect they will find a saviour somehow, but its a terrible mess. the vast majority, if not all, RL Clubs are running on empty, but that also applies to most foot ball clubs if you take out the Man Uniteds. We shouldnt wish for any club to be thrown out or for points deductions to save our baco. i for one hope they come out of this, a great old club and the last ground we played a play-off game on!

Although my first (knee jerk) reaction was 'up yours Chris Caisley!',I have to agree with what you say about Bradford - I'd forgotten Odsal was where we last appeared in a playoff game, seems like a lifetime ago!

That's the main conclusion of this affair. And if Bradford are in trouble, then it isn't a terribly big stretch to imagine us, Castleford, Salford and Wakefield being not far off similar.

One of the main tenets of the Franchising system was that it was supposed to ensure financial stability of clubs. Yet more evidence that the RFL is completely clueless when it comes to running the game.

It would be far more interesting to see an income/expenditure league table. I think that would be more prescient. A crumb of comfort is that the Aviva premiership sides are in even more debt, but they do have owners with deeper pockets.
