| There used to be a troll on this board who called himself 100%league0%union (Salford fan I think). Took this name in his honour!

| Quote Dave Lister="Dave Lister"I want Halfdan of t'wide embrace to respond.'"
It's quite simple. My name is Roger but that is already in use on this board. Just before registering I spent a weekend in Yorkshire watching Broncos and a Div 1 game. I stopped off in a village and popped in to the local church for a bit of tourism. (It was particularly old) The guide book had a decent history of the area and mentioned the Viking raids the locals suffered from, led by Princes Halfdan of the Wide Embrace (sometimes just Halfdan Wide Embrace) and his brother Ivarr the Boneless. (The third brother was called Ubbe but that's much less interesting.) I thought they were such wonderful names one of them should be borrowed for use on this forum, one toss of a coin later and it was Halfdan.
Incidentally one suggestion for the name 'Boneless' is that Ivarr was disabled and unable to walk though that cannot be proved. Another brother, Sigurd Snake-Eyes was too young to join those particular raids. Their father was known as Ragnar Lothbrok, which translates as Ragnar Hairy Breeches.

| Sadly my username is more straight forward and doesn't come with such a historic reference. I live in Surrey and my name is Ben!

Based on the names of the two clubs I've supported. Bronco is obvious - could never bring myself to replace it with Quin - turned out a wise move (or non-move).
The other half is more complex. First supported Liverpool Stanley who subsequently mutated into Liverpool City and a few other names before finally biting the dust as Prescot Panthers. The club motto of Stanley was "On Stanley on", derived from Marmion by Sir Walter Scott. There's a very old joke from somewhere: "On Stanley on, were the last words on Marmion. If I were but in Stanley's place, a tear would dim each smiling face." Hence OnIon.

| Got mine from the days of following the London Knights Ice Hockey club. Lots of people had different knights-based names dave knight alan knight type things
Darth Chris was a play on the Jedi Knight, just one of the lesser known Sith Lords. May have even been Darth Chris Jedi Knight.
Was years ago anyway but since then its been my log in name in a fair few places.
Chris is a common name so that's usually gone,
Strangely Darth Chris is less and less available dunno why.

| Quote Dave Lister="Dave Lister"Seeing as it's the off-season...
How did you come up with your username on here? There are some fairly interesting creations on this board in particular, that I would be interested to hear the origins of...
When I joined up as a 14 year old,[u I quite liked Red Dwarf[/u, and had the same Lister avatar for several years. And that's it for me...
(Big Graeme need not reply).'"
Red Dwarf was class pity the three 'back to earth' episodes were as bad as the rest of it was good. Id have gone for 'Ace Rimmer' as a name if id have thought of Red Dwarf to be honest but as it was I wanted something that identified me as a wire fan and I was watching the episode of South Park where their goatee'd alter-egos turn up so it struck me.......Wolfieseviltwin

| Whilst trying to think of a user name, I was watching Marcus St Hillaire and Marcus Bai making their Bulls debut on TV. I thought I heard Ganson shout 'Marcus', and wondered which one had offended, only to realise he had called 'Markers'.
