The reason teams can Lose and still go on in finals football is a reward for finishing higher then other teams. It wouldn't be fair if say the team that won the minor premiership lost on week 1 and got kicked out for it after having such a wonderful season would it?

So why not take the whole risk out of it all and recognise the real champions and not bother with the play offs. At what point does it become acceptable for the Minor Premiers to lose?

Q.1. Because after only ten round some it would be impossible for some teams to win the title. Crowds, TV ratings and interest will drop because of this. Potential income drops also because of all these factors.

Q.2. A true champion team can handle pressure games like finals and not edge out every team in the competition during regular season games where there is no pressure. If the team that comes first losses multiple times in high pressure games then they aren't really the best are they? They best can handle the pressure.

It would be like making the State of Origin a one-game series again or turning the four nations into a knockout tournament.

I'm pretty certain that the Super League finals guarantee that the top four progress through to week two of the finals series...
