The best way I can think of would be to do it via cut out coupons in copies of the paper, redeemable at the ground on matchdays. The old London Knights ice hockey club used to do that in the Standard around ten years ago. (Unless there's some reason why it can't be done anymore unless it's on the website too.)
You can't blame the northerners for using their initiative and taking advantage of the situation and getting themselves a bit of a discount on an expensive trip, but it's a bit pointless our club giving away hundreds of tickets to people who would have travelled anyway and willingly paid £15 on the gate.
