| If you watch the match, when , wilkin broke, wheeler had been pulled back by Penny. So instead of a forward pass, it should have been a penalty to saints. The fact that Child told Lou Scarsbrook four times to play the ball resulted in a penalty, but, the letter of the law is persistant foul play (4) should be a sin bin offence. Child should have given head and feed to Quins for the knock on by Cunningham, but, it should have been highlighted by the touch judge, video ref can say anything. We can all name refs who get decisions wrong, but, so can armchair fans!

| Childs changed the momentum of the game when he gave the LMS decision. He was then inconsistent with his decision leading up to the first Saints try. He said he had warned LMS 4 times before -at what point does it become an offence and what offences deserve 4 warnings?
I also struggle with the holding down decisions-Do they give them in the context of the game they are reffing or do they give them in the context of the wider game- if so teams like Wigan and Hudds would be penalised hugely each game if we get penalised as much as we and Sainst were yesterday.

| Child made 2 game changing errors in awarding two St Helens tries from forward passes (of which one was blatant) and the knock on near his line from Cunningham was yet another decision against the Quins. I am struggling to think of anything we got bar a couple of James Roby hoilding down penalties.
We can enjoy the games from now on without rancour as we would need a minimum of 12 wins from the last 18 games to make the play-offs, which is very unlikely, so we may as well throw the ball around for the season and be entertained, rather than go back to the draining RL we have played prior to today. After all Child and Uncle Albert won't be here every week with the 'Randomizer' and at least we aren't that dumb lot from Huddersfield who can be heard shouting 'Forward' on every play.

| To be fair, Child warned LMS at least four times (and a number of other players in the first half, on both sides), before warning him for the "last time" and telling him at scrum time - and LMS still didn't put his foot any where near the ball when he was penalised.
Obviously that doesn't make up for the forward pass that was at least three yards forward or the subsequent play the ball.
Other than that I though he was OK.
It would be easier to be critical if we'd lost by one score, which would have happened had LMS passed the ball to Gale in the second half instead of taking the tackle two on one with the full back.

Though whenever I've seen a game from Knowsley Road the crowd seems to find it very easy to spot forward passes multiple times a game!

Yeah, but that's a tradition. It is a well known fact among the RL fraternity that almost every pass the opposition makes while at Knowsley Road is without a doubt forward!
