As has been the case throughout the club's history a major contributory factor to our problems is the lack of depth in the squad to cover the inevitable injuries. We currently have four or five top class players in the squad (Purdham, Randall, Orr, Howell etc) but when they are either out injured or playing through injury (as seemed to be the case with Danny and Chad at the weekend) then we just don't have the quality cover for those positions. However to get that quality into the squad we need to be able to attract a higher class of reserve player (can't afford to at present on our crowds or without a very rich sugar daddy) or develop our own (making great strides but not there yet).

Despite the gloom and doom surrounding the recent run of results and Saturday's dismal showing the hope has got to be that we will be producing players of sufficient quality, in sufficient quantity, to overcome this problem in the not too distant future.
