Because the BBC are stuck in the past when rugby league was a Northern Game, keeping those awful Northern working class people off the streets. It isn't anything to do with Quins; it's just that they can't get their head around the idea that people from elsewhere in the country may actually enjoy and - shock, horror! - play rugby league. I'm just hoping that Quins make it impossible for the BBC to continue justifying that position.

My impression from not seeing the game live and only reading about it afterwards was that Bentham gave the Gene try without referral to the video ref.

To be fair it looked a strightforward try when I first saw it on the tv highlights. Then, watching the Superleague show, I formed the impression the decision has been referred to the video ref with several replays shown, proving conclusively that Gene dropped the ball. The casual viewer was left with the impression that the try had obviously been disallowed, but there was no shot of the giant tv screen in the ground flashing up a "NO TRY" message and when play restarted the scorebox in the top left corner had mysteriously changed from 0-18 to 4-18! Very peculiar.

At which the resounding chorus of "You only scored 'cos you cheated" went up from the away crew
