Quote ="poplar panther"This team can drive you round the bend and back again. From the poor performances against Hudds (twice), Catalans and the second half against HKR to the totally unpredicatable win against Leeds. If I could spell schizophrenia, I would but what are we to make of such a side. I now know why we teamed up with Chessington, it is more of an up and downer than any of their rides. We lacked consistency last season but hey we should enjoy the ride. I am told that playing pro RL is like being in a car crash each week, well it is nearly as bad as watching one each week.
Still we will never get bored, and like naughty children our players always try harder when they let us down. Having said all this, two comfortable wins over Salford and Wakey would do nicely doctor.'"
I know exactly where you're coming from, but I'll accept the frustrating defeats in return for the wins like last Friday. It's more fun than always beating the teams below us and losing to those above us.
I think Huddersfield are a very good side this year; whilst the margins of defeat were disappointing the actual loss of those games was bearable. The Catalans game was annoying because I didn't think they were very good, just minimised the unforced errors (which we conspicuously didn't) and we still nearly beat them after playing well for just the final ten minutes or so. The Wigan game was one of those that makes you wonder how we're going to beat anybody. They were desperately poor in the first half and we should have led by at least an extra 10-12 points by half time instead of just four points; that would have been enough to stave off their second half fightback IMO. HKR was a bit worrying at the time, but Cooke & Dobson on form are a class double act and they took full advantage of Orr's absence in the second half. If Orr had completed the match but Cooke or Dobson had gone off injured I suspect we might have won.
