| dunno about anyone else but have we got some kind of curse on us when we play at home?
does the vastness of the place make the players feel uncomfortable?
does the general negativity of the fan base make them play with fear of being the next one to get stick if they do something wrong?
i saw a post from a long standing fan last night saying how he isnt getting value for money anymore and is seriously thinking about just going to away games instead as they are miles better value i think he has a point a lot of people i was talking to on the way home yesterday were saying they were fed up of watching crap at home and will give them a miss.
is this something the club should be worryed about if fans are saying they arent gonna go to homes games cos we always play crap?

| Limit the areas of seating from row A to row Z forget about all the rows above that. Pushing all the fans closer together and closer to the action will improve the atmosphere. Putting 4500/5000 fans into 25000 seats does absolutely nothing for atmosphere which must be felt on the field. Stop pampering to the "I've sat in that seat all my life" and do something positive before there's no one left and we don't have a Rugby team in Huddersfield.

| Dear Giants supporter
As part of a recent meeting with club officials, it was requested that the HGSA canvass supporters regarding their "match day experience" and how they can improve things?
This means everything to do with the off field things, music, lights, etc so we have a few questions we would like to ask to gauge the supporters opinions.
We would be grateful if you’d take a few minutes to complete this survey

| Just a thought though grandad Perhaps the first to
eave may be the ones who've supported the team *all their lives,*through good bad and worse paid for their chosen
eats and on that premise being told they've to sit somewhere else?
Just a thought and in case you're wondering
with your suggestion ,no I'm not one of the pampered
As I say just the other side of the discussion

| I wasn't criticising you personally but we've got to do something quickly before we get to the point when Ken Davy has had enough and pulls the plug and we've no club to follow. This seating arrangement is just a suggestion and not a personal attack so don't take it as one.

| Hadn't done!
You posted first!
I just considered your case.of losing
support through the eyes of the faithful
Supporters you considered pampered
because marketing allowed them to
purchase a season ticket "through thick and
thin.times and the associated choice of
where they sat
I acknowledge your point re atmosphere
and it's relevance to only opening one side on
Wednesday due to the circumstances but with
displays like that compacting spectators wouldn't
matter one jot IMO
Consistent performances like the season we
topped the table instead of the stop/ start/stuttering
ones we are used to would achieve far more noise
from.those who stand by the team - pampered or otherwise and help to fill the vacant seats with new -comers
Not ruffled by you having your view on things
The topic is requesting fans views -
They've now got two to start with- and away we go!

| Good point crackers!
We were compacted on Wednesday night- didnt hear a peep from “the singers” even early on when reality hadn’t kicked in.
I suspect it wouldnt matter either way. And the atmosphere still would t change.
Anyhow on Thursday we probably need to do the opposite and spread out- about a metre apart between each spectator should do it!

| League is part of the entertainment business, It's supposed to be good to watch, that lot on Wed night will have done nothing but put more people off, 2000 turned up on a foul night to watch a match in a comp that few people really care about anymore, now there seems to be some sort of suggestion that they were possibly partially to blame for the way the team performed.
Fair enough the opening poster wasn't just referring to that match particularly and is more concerned with home matches in general. IMO fans want different things, some want to see their team win at any cost playing any sort of football , others want to see skills and fast flowing football, others seem to care more about the atmosphere.
There are few teams that can pull in the crowds when they are not winning or at least playing well, Even the mighty Wigan no longer get the crows they did when they were kings of the league and they are now starting to face the same problems as us because of the size of their stadium.
All the other things that have been said on this thread all have their part to play undoubtedly but for me the whole thing that keeps me going down is to see a good game, When i go down get a soaking and then the team play like that i just think , The Hell with it if that's. the amount of interest they have I'll give it a rest. I honestly don't think if our normal size crowd had been there it would have changed the way they played.
I'm sure some of the things that have been mentioned have a certain amount of effect on the team but we can't do anything about the size of the stadium and you can't force people to sing, End of the day for me it all starts with the team, their commitment, their fight and their will to win, none of which was there on Wednesday night and i don't really feel it was some how in any way down to me.

Spot on.

| It doesn't matter how you move the fans around, it's what happens on the pitch that influences the atmosphere. I've been in 20000 at the stadium with no atmosphere, and been in 5000 with a great atmosphere. To me it's down to the team and the club to drive the improvement with consistent good performances.....we should be winning most if not all our home games which would help. No easy fix but simply moving fans around is not the answer.

| Totally agree. The product on the pitch makes the atmosphere not being squashed together.
If end up being squashed up near the bloke with the pan and wooden spoon I'll not be best pleased.
As Jools said, on Wednesday there wasn't a peep out of the singers after about 15 minutes proving the product is far more important than the herd mentality
