Given you've now won silverware, do you think this will improve home attendances?
This isn't 'having a go' or anything.
I'm genuinely mystified why you don't have higher attendances and I am told that the average age of Hudds supporters is higher than for most teams.

You've got a great stadium and now a team that has delivered but it does make me wonder what's necessary to change this scenario.

Any ideas?

No idea Fez, we will all be there whatever, your question needs to be asked to the public of Huddersfield and the surrounding areas as they are the only ones who can improve our crowds.

been done to death really, various reasons why our crowds are poor.maybe they will improve now that we have won something and also the shares issue has caused a lot of resentment.
but other than that, 4 generations of support lost is not going to come back overnight, but hopefully we will improve next year.
as for the stadium, yes its great but its too big for us and sometimes hinders us I think.would rather have our own cosy 10-12,000 ground that is 2/3rds full than a 1/4 empty john smiths.

I think the profile of the whole game needs to rise before Hudds attendance start to rise significantly.

Yep , the way the sport is run is a joke, and baloo just showed exactly how much of a joke by the team he fielded - who can blame him!
If instead of all the prize money being decided by four games at the end of the season they spread it out based on final position then we'd see a better brand of rugby every week and none of the "play when it matters" rubbish.

That's what I've said for a while split the money based on league positions, the chairmen won't stand for finishing low down if it means a lot less money.
League for the clubs and chairman and Playoffs and GF for the sponsors, Sky and the fans.

and the average hudds supporter being the oldest on average does not surprise one bit, lost generations with those barren years of super league and relegation, luckily i stuck with them and now being rewarded

The bad days were WAY before Super League Brearley....to some older fans the early super league days were more than they could have dreamt of

We lost 2 generations of fans between 1970-2000 in my view.

Exactly, there seems to be a few 16-25 at the moment who were the kids in the early days of SL but like you said not so many between 25-40 compared to other clubs, apart from those who come as families.

Most of the people i know between 35-45 were around in the Fartown days, not so many newer faces in that age group in the last 10 years though.

hopefully this younger end that are watching now will stick with us...no reason not too

but Rugby league needs a big boost and i think the world cup could be it

Also back in 2000 and around that time when we were getting hammered every week and finishing bottom i used to be a junior giant along with around 6 other mates..me and another who goes occasionally are the only ones left. If we were successful back then i think we would of kept the others coming too

on another thread a few weeks back, I made a point that whilst all the other clubs apart from Catalans and London have been established top flight clubs for decades that have had a regular fanbase of thousands in all of those years,we haven't, we have literally raised our crowds from a few thousand just over 20 years ago, no other SL club have had such a huge rise in attendances as we have in the last 10-15 years.
but people who don't think just presume that we have always been an established first division/super league club.
now we have proved we can play with the best and beat them and win things lets hope we can improve our attendances even further.
