| and where would we play whilst this dream stadium that you think can be built for peanuts is being built.
Shares were worth £2 each when Davy sold them back. Not sure we have 5 million of them to provide the 10 million we’d need to build it- even if we could find a suitable site. Those who think fartown - it will never happen as the site is simply no longer fit to have a stadium on in this day and age of the motor vehicle.
And that’s without taking into account we have a massively long lease, and we would need to get over all the legal caveats built in to prevent such a thing happening.

| Peanuts?
£25million would build a perfectly decent RL stadium. That’s what Langtree Park cost.
Town have spent £45million so far this season on bringing players in.
Town are currently in 15th spot in the table. If that’s where they finish, their share of the prize money will be £108million
Believe me, if Town really want rid of the Giants the money is there. If they can string together a few years in the top flight, they could fart out a new rugby stadium every year and not notice.

The shares in the stadium aren’t publicly traded, so they really are worth whatever the parties buying and selling them want them to be worth. That could be 20p or £20,000, it’s entirely up to them.
All leases and “legal caveats” are entirely surmountable if the parties involved want them to be.
The only really difficult, maybe impossible, problem you’ve mentioned with Fartown as a stadium site is the access. All the other problems are just a matter of getting all the stakeholders to decide to do it or not.

All very well but can the Giants afford to run a new stadium? Not on crowds of 4k and more than likely in the Championship.

I agree with everything Steve May has said, If the parties wanted it done it could could be done. I also take your point which just re-enforces the argument that we are not really a Super league club, other than as making up the numbers till something better comes along, and we are not the only one, Far from it.

If this is true, then to me it implies that the board also think that Thorman is part of the problem. It's realistic to think that if Woolford is appointed, then Thorman won't be sticking around.

I think there are clearly more pressing problems facing the club so I’ll not comment further after this but I think the following:
The club has a massive identity problem, made worse by being seen as cuckooing in Town’s nest
The chances of the club ever pushing a 25,000 capacity are remote. They just don’t, and realistically never will, need those seats. Let’s not forget that under the licensing you got a point for an average of 10,000 and a point for averaging 40% of capacity. 40% of 25,000 is...
The atmosphere in the ground is terrible and will remain so unless we start to pull 12,000+. Which makes the Giants a bit of a sad proposition. Who wants to be part of a sp crowd rattling round a massive, empty ground.
On top of that there are many known problems with the way the stadium facilities are run (and for once we can’t blame Thewlis)
I really believe that the stadium is not an optimal home for the club. But it’s not going to change anytime soon so it’s really not worth commenting on further.
There are many, many things the club could do in the short/medium term beyond thinking about the stadium.

Be interesting seeing Woolford doing interviews after games.
He was banned from attending games when he coached in the Canberra comp for punching out a window in the coaches box.
www.canberratimes.com.au/sport/a ... je57k.html
He seems to be a good coach at improving individual skills. He has improved a lot of players in the Knights reserve grade.
Not nearly as good as Rick Stone though.

| 9 month ban seems harsh for that.. but it was end of the season so wont have affected much
has some fire in his belly by the sounds of it, maybe the giants need someone like that to ruffle a few feathers!
