| Yeah I'd have been unhappy signing him at his "best"
Now I'll be furious
If we're that desperate look to the Championship

Or even better the Aussie championship, I agree there is a lot of difference in signing young champ's players and ones who are there after being S league players, plus we have young players of our own. At the end of the day so much depends on the coach, RS might turn out to be another N Brown and really bring some of our players on, Just hope he isn't like him in every way though.

6243.gif This will be our year......................................................Hopefully!
But maybe not with child running amock.:6243.gif |

| So it looks like Huby has gone to Wakey, loan or permanent? He is on Caton Browns instagram page talking about team bonding.
That's typical of the shambles communication we get from our club, we find out players have moved from instagram first. It's pathetic.

| "Our focus as well as the pre-season training programme now includes further recruitment which at this time of the year is far from ideal, however these are the cards we have been dealt and we move on from the past and look forward with excitement and confidence to the start of the Super League season.”
This load of tosh sounds to me like that will be his excuse when all the fans kick off when we announce Ryan Bailey in a Giants shirt. I will be FUMING if this is the case.
We currently have 1 EXPERIENCED prop in our team and loads of youngsters. When we have 2 quota spots available and we are losing experienced British players such as Huby and Eorl. Unless we sign a Burgess or a Graham I don't see how they can be replaced so easily as most squads from UK have been complete - which makes me think the Bailey rumours could be true.
I think people need to wake up and realise how badly the club is run. We must have ridiculous amounts of cap space available at the moment.
We have lost:
Huby, Crabtree, Johnson, Grix, Connor, Wood & Ellis and still potentially Wardle and replaced with Clough, Gaskell & Ferguson and we were extremely short of players last season.
Although most of the players which have left I agree with we are still massively short of around 3/4 maybe 5 decent players now if we are going to compete in the top 8 and push for top 4 again I just can't see it happening or where these players are going to come from.
The only other British prop I can think of available is Ben Harrison but I would much rather have Huby any day.

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

What I said was I don't have a problem with them leaving IF we had replacements. There are very very few English players available and we seem to be losing more and more. Most squads have been announced. We had a small squad last year and its looking extremely like it will be smaller this year.

Bad we can't keep hold of a great young athlete like Wardle.. However we are in desperate need of a fullback and we'd be getting somebody who would want to play for the Giants, while losing somebody with an ambition to play in Australia.
If it happens then good on him. He'll be missed by most.

| Apparently we have come to an agreement with Newcastle now and we will be announcing it sometime this week. Wardle going the other way.
Surely Wardle will be the last outgoing player and we will see another 2/3 additions after Mamo arrives.

| So we are going to lose a quality young talent for a full back who is injured at the moment and unlikely to be fit for a while. Will someone please explain to me how that strengthens our paper thin squad?

| Wardle going means we now need the following first team players
Fullback - presumably Mamo, Murphy/Simpson/Gaskell back up
Left centre - nobody been mentioned but we need a top class one - Murphy/Sam Wood/Gaskell back up
Left wing is weak - Murphy first choice for me, back up of Ormsby and Darnell if Murphy injured or playing elsewhere
2 Props - 1 of which has to be top class with Mason/Clough/Smith battling for other positions. Seb and Taai can play here but both are better on the fringes imo.
Hooker - Leeming will be a big player this year (he needs to be) but I'd rather Hinchy cover hooker only when necessary. We need a top line hooker.
If cap is an issue then following Mamo we need to prioritise in the following order Hooker/Centre/Prop for me.
I suppose the reality of it is with the time of year, money and players available we will probably end up with a couple of unknown quota gambles and a couple of British surplus squaddies (in addition to the Bradford lot)

| We don't need anything like that
Mamo at the back, with a ton of cover
Left centre - Sam Wood or Gaskell, plus loads of cover
Left wing - Ormsby, with a load of cover
Prop, we need a new one with Wakeman being likely
It'll do for me
Murphy remains an entirely dependable squad player, but lacks pace at wing, power and handling at centre and organisation at full back to be first choice
Utterly dependable yes. Match winner. No
Ormsby has the power and pace to do the job on the wing for me
