I would be happy with that would love Eorl to retire rather than go to another SL club but going to Australia to finish his career would be good for him.

| Very interesting to hear the Eorl to Newcastle rumours... Quite surprising at his age to go over there. But I'd personally love to see him test himself in that comp... Always stepped up when he played for England. Eorls disadvantage is his size, people expect a battering ram, he's far from that, he's a grafters. He's big, athletic and has a good engine. Perfect for the NRL with then needing fitter props...

| He should have gone about six years back. He was immense back then - one of the best attacking props in the World, his offloading game was fantastic. He would have gone really well in the NRL (and maybe even earned the respect of League Freak!)
I wish him well of course, but I think it's a bit late for him TBH.

| I rate Mamo, he has been a stand out performer at N/Knights this season at Full Back. Granted they have been a poor side this season, but they would have been in the top 6 in S/L.

| you would have to think at the moment that mamo is the most likely to come over and fill that full back void, would be happy with this and also to offload wardle who has had 1 good game in 2 seasons!

| When I read that article I don't think of Mamo.
When is says Stoney is very keen on one player in particular, I assume it means Tyler Randell.
Stone is a massive fan of Randell and brought him through the grades to firstgrade.
I won't say Stone doesn't rate Mamo, but he never seemed to be that impressed with him.

We already know that stone has definitely enquiries about Mamo. Whether he enquiries about Randell will depend on whether he sees hinchy moving to 13- he rates Leeming.
Problem is if hinchy moves to the back row we then have symonds, taai, ikahihifo, Roberts and Bruno all vying for two second row spots- all those players are too good to be sitting in the stands- taai and ikahihifo should not be playing prop as it's not their best positions. (And if rumours are true we have Ferguson coming plus youngsters waiting to get a chance at second row!)
Swapping Randall/Mamo for Wardle and allowing him to go early doesn't help as that leaves us short in the centres. Symonds has played centre, but again It's not his best position. We should not be starting the season shoehorning players into their second best position to fill a shortage.

| If i remember right when RS was appointed someone posted (Roopy?) that he builds teams to suit the players he has so that suggests to me (I hope) we will see round pegs in round holes - players in their true positions. That being the case and if Wardle goes does it mean
A centre is coming in. Gaskell? Or someone else
Or Sam Wood / Jacob Wardle will be given a chance.
Don't see Ferguson in front of the other second rowers and is Taai here next season?

| You guys are thinking of Randell as a hooker - and that is all he has played in firstgrade, apart from filling in at half and centre during games because of injuries.
But I can tell you that when Rick coached him in reserve grade he played very little hooker. At different times Rick used him as a centre, 5/8, half, lock, second row and sometimes as a hooker.
If all were fit, he'd often name Randell on the bench as injury cover, and use him when players were tired as a ball playing lock forward - someone who could run some plays and defend in the forwards.
Randell is a chunky little guy who isn't really a standout in any position, but he'll turn his hand to anything and do OK. He isn't really big enough for the forwards, but makes up for it with excellent defence. His kicking game isn't good enough for the halves, but his passing game is solid and he has a surprizing turn of speed for a chunky little guy.
His two best assets are his defence and his fitness, and the fact that he is a real footballer who knows his role in any position he is thrown into, and he'll do what Stoney says, which is why Stoney loves him.
Nathan Brown sees him as a hooker only, and has decided to replace him because he isn't ever going to be a rep standard hooker, while Rick Stone sees him as a bloody good footballer who can fill a lot of gaps.
Funnily, I always said that Rick was ruining his career in reserve grade by using him in a different position every week and not allowing him to specialize.
In my opinion, 5/8 is his best position, and after two years of firstgrade at hooker, hooker would now be his second best position.
