Quote: GIANT DAZ "What's all this 'They' business ??

Are we not all fans of the same club ? are we not all wanting to see this club be successful ?
Those are comments i'd expect from a fan of a rival team or a troll not one of our own.

We all want the same thing for this club....some have more patience and endurance and are prepared to trust the club, some want it now - obviously you are one of the latter.
Don't get me wrong i would love the club to break world record fees to bring the best half-back/prop/full back etc to this club and win everything there is to win in the next year but the reality is it isn't going to happen.
It could turn around and we may go the rest of the year unbeaten, we don't know but we will only find out if we stick with it....moaning on forums and criticising long term fans for being eternal optimists will not make the club better or worse.'"

Ok DAZ we are all fans of the club, but some of us can see that changes are needed while there is still time.
You want to talk about reality, well reality is the middle 8 and a fight to stay in S league, as opposed to your idea. " quote" It could turn around and we may go the rest of the year unbeaten but we will only know if we stick with it " unquote" By that way of reckoning we could also go the rest of the year without another win at all and be down to a couple of thousand fans, would you still be saying " I won't call for Paul to go ".

The one sure thing is that we could not get any worse than we are at present with a change of coach, If you can not see that our players have gone backwards , you are either blind or know nothing about League at all, It's far more likely that you are blinded by your unflinching loyalty to everything Giants, altough you may actually think our players have improved under Mr Anderson.

Anyway I have had my say on it, I am not going to change your mind about anything and if you want to keep paying out your hard earned indefinitely to watch Sh*** that's your business, but you wont get the public of Huddersfield to do the same with the present set up, and it's not because they are tight fisted miserable B*******s, it's because they know when they are watching S***** from a half decent squad.

I just felt we were on the cusp of greatness, if a few changes ,and right decisions were made ,but those decisions weren't made unfortunately ,and now we seem to be at the bottom looking up agen instead of the top looking down . No its not the end of the season yet and I truly do think we will turn things around , I'm hoping now for around 6th 7th. But we all have to admit it's a little frustrating to slip so quickly from where we were a few years back to this . At the end of the day we are fans and are passionate about our club and all have different opinions, I for one will support them through thick and thin always. Anyway long live the GIANTS and bring on Salford!

Jo, I've watched this club through its worst ever times and paid my hard earned for more years than most of our squad have been alive ...and believe me these are still good times compared ...and of course I'll continue to go and pay my hard earned its what I do, I don't just go to the games to see them win its the whole social aspect of the day spent with my good friends ...I love this club and will still go to every game even if we're in league 1.
Obviously I would like us to be challenging for the world club challenge but I cannot alone change what happens so I go along full of hope every game every year.

I know some don't that's their choice but a couple of bad seasons won't stop me going !!

Quote: Jo Jumbuck "Absolutely right mate but you are wasting you time trying to convince people who see the world through Claret and Gold glasses. They think if you have the nerve to criticize the club or complain about the style of play, you are just a whinger who is not a true fan at all.
In reality they have been watching Tripe for so long that the last few seasons has seemed like they have found El-dorado. Most of last season, certainly up until the split, the football played was rubbish, other than 2/3 games ( they did pick it up in the playoff section to their credit ) till it mattered and then it went the same way as usual, they don't care mate , the lower they get the more you are supposed to get behind them ( if you are a true fan that is ) obviously the majority of people in Huddersfield feel differently. ( but hey ,what do they know, they weren't one of the 300.

Being one of those 300 is nothing to be ashamed of. it,s, not something to be proud of either It's just an admission you were prepared to go and pay out to watch Tripe, While you were , thousands of other people were watching good sides play good Football.

Well it won't take much for us to be heading in that direction again , Fans are deserting yearly , yet still all we need is a bit of time ,to turn it round. We need to beat Salford tomorrow or Mr Anderson will be in serious trouble, I don't want to see him out of work, I just want to see him Work somewhere else. We are playing a boring pedestrian style of football that people will just not pay to watch, If you play the game how it's meant to be played you will get you share of wins, more importantly you will get people to come and watch, So for me the ball is in Mr Davy's court.'"

We are all entitled to an opinion, we won't always disagree but to split the fan base like you have is pathetic.
We all want the same thing, we just have differing opinions to each other, but to suggest that some section of our support is against the other is ridiculous
If you don't like what's happening at the club, speak to the club? raise your concerns? or if you don't like watching us or want to support us then don't, you aren't been forced to do it.
I appreciate your opinions and your concerns but constantly moaning about it isn't going to change things, i know you see me as "one of them" but i just get fed up off seeing all the negative rubbish, yes we are bottom, yes we've been poor, yes, our crowds are crap, yes we play rubbish stuff, yes the weather is rubbish!

I appreciate what you are saying Daz, and you are right . Your support of your club does you credit, I don't understand it but so be it, I guess the problem is we come from different League supporting backgrounds, I have said before ,I grew up watching the best around, you grew up watching what you did, so I suppose that will account for our different views.
That said I shall be there again today hoping for a good effort, We should be able to put out a half decent team, We don't usually do well against Salford at home, but now is as good a time as any to start to put things right.

So basically what you post comes under the " everyone has the right to their opinion category " What I post comes under the " what you are quite happy to call negative rubbish" Yet I am the one splitting the fan base.
Has it never occurred to you meast that other people might be just as fed up of hearing , all the maybe's and endless excuses that you trot out on here. Have I ever called any of your posts fanciful over optimistic rubbish, No I have often questioned your opinions, and for answers I get Maybe this ,Maybe that
As usual because I don't agree with you , I am constantly moaning, I think I am being realistic, but as far as you are concerned Its negative rubbish. and I get the " if you don't want to support us don't stuff" What comes next ? why do you come on the Forum, you aren't being forced.
For your information I have contacted the club on occasions , they haven't bothered to respond.

The weather could be worse, all the others I agree with.

Reading through all this it's clear we all want the same thing, just there are differing opinions as to the way forward as is always the case, but ultimately we must get behind the team on the field together, there are few enough as it is! Comparing the team with those of years ago, good or bad, serves no purpose...we have what we have now.
I believe the big thing for PA at the moment is man management...he has a small squad and needs to manage each individual appropriately to get the best out of them....they should all know the structures and systems it's making sure the application is there.
It is up to him as coach to get the discipline sorted...he isn't on the pitch but he should be able to instill it into the players, it's part of his job!
I have often been baffled by his interchanges. (Not just this season) and I think it's true that we have been poor to watch, particularly last season. Given that, I will be happy to see us grind out a couple of much needed wins this week!
I understand the "give him time" argument, but how far do you go? I think if today and Castleford result in defeats we have to look at a change then...games are ticking by and we need to pick some points up.
On the recruitment front, I'm not sure how much say he has...I have no knowledge of how it works within the club but have an impression that Thewliss is the main driver there...May be wrong it's just an impression I have.
Like the rest I am very frustrated and disappointed this year but my view is that I support the team and that continues through good and bad.

5 half back pairings, 5 fullbacks, (6 after today) 3 players playing 3 positions, 3 players playing in 2 positions.
A 20 year old having played fullback, 6,7 and centre. Debuts galore.
That's not counting the in game changes when people have gone off injured.

And just TWO players playing in their same position all year.

But it's the coaches fault......

Another loss, 2 pts thrown away and the shambles just rolls on and on. Bottom 2 and a possible million pound game await us unless something changes very, very soon. Too many mediocre players at the club and not enough class in the team even when at full strengh to pull us through. Time for a good shake up of both mediocre/underperforming players and coaching staff. Heads need to roll in order for us to move on.

That is an argument I agree, but does it account for the dross that we watched for much of last year. We are sadly short of basic skills jools

Yup the coach who is moving players round left right and centre, dropping players who have played well with no explanations.

Yet again he doesnt fail to deliver, we sign Brierley a halfback for last 4 years and he's played twice for us, both times in different positions, today fullback where he has never played before, he drops a young kid who should be our main fullback by now with 40 odd games under his belt had Anderson not dropped him on the back of 3 very very good performances to accomodate one of our recognised names, so yup sorry dont agree with your play em they are a well known name strategy but I do blame the coach, the same one who has brought these problems on himself by dropping players who were performing!!!! Today was absolute garbage against a team losing their last 4 of 5 games following on from Catalan and Wakefield which were also garbage, If we were due to play Bradford, Leigh, Halifax, Batley or London next week to survive I would be very very worried. We dont look like a team end of

Who has he dropped who has played better? He's moving players because we've started the season with two experienced players down unexpectedly and a plethora of injuries!

Have you considered joining the Supporters association ? we have regular meetings with the club and they do listen and take on board what the fans are saying, we like to think we are a sounding board for the fans and if you have any ideas/thoughts etc you would be most welcome to join us in getting them through if you want the club to listen and respond etc.
